"On page A-5 in the May 9, 2002 issue of the San Diego Union Tribune known more accurately in some circles as the 'Soviet Union Tribune' appears an article with the headline "Majority Favors gun control, abortion rights."
"Apparently the basis of the article is from a company that publishes so-called field polls. At the end of the article, the author appropriately included that the poll results were conjured by contacting 343 registered voters and that the margin of error is allegedly 5.6%." |

"I can't explain it but, it seems, every time a subject comes up, or I start thinking of something in particular, I always end up, before the day is done, coming across an article or something dealing with that particular subject. It's kinda spooky sometimes how it happens so regularly.
Such was the case this morning. I got up because I couldn't sleep. My demons were haunting me - still. Your article, "The tyranny advances," stated EXACTLY what I was thinking about!" |

"Sunday is traditionally a day of rest, when many people attend religious or spiritual services, and also take to the outdoors to enjoy non-hunting activities such as picnicking, biking, hiking or wildlife watching," said Wayne Pacelle, a senior vice president of The HSUS. "Adding Sunday hunting would jeopardize the lives of thousands more wild animals each year and would disrupt the peace and activities of others enjoying the great outdoors," he said. |

Talking out of both sides of his mouth, Sen. Schumer proclaims support for an individual right, slams Ashcroft for supporting that right, and says (effectively) New Yorkers are morally inferior to Arizonans, so they need tighter gun laws.
"The broad principle that there is an individual right to bear arms is shared by many Americans, including myself." ...and then... "Not to put too fine a point on it, but if New York City had Arizona's gun laws, Times Square would look like the OK Corral." |

"Attorney General John Ashcroft caused gun-control advocates and assorted liberals to go ballistic by his radical assertion that, yes, the Second Amendment does indeed guarantee individuals the right to keep and bear arms."
"That's exactly what most law-abiding, gun-owning Americans have believed all along. Apparently it was news to nanny-state proponents and other pantywaists, even though the Second Amendment was ratified more than 200 years ago on Dec. 15, 1791." |

"These are unsettling times for German hunting and sports gun manufacturers and dealers. Wolfgang Fuchs of the National Association of Gunsmiths and Arms Dealers in Marburg fears that the tougher gun laws planned in the wake of the Erfurt school killings could mean the end for some of the 1,200 registered dealers."
"Many already complain about falling revenues. Tougher laws can only make customers that much more uncertain -- and dissuade them from buying," Mr. Fuchs says." |

Guns, they believe, are hazardous to our health..." While Safer is recounting these alleged facts, the camera shows a bloody emergency room scene that may or may not show gunshot victims. ... Only after allowing the proponents to make an emotion-based case does Safer allow Dr. Wheeler to make his points." |
