Fashion designers are cashing in on new state laws allowing concealed weapons by creating clothes and accessories for the purpose of hiding guns.
Sarah Church, founder of her own eponymous clothing line, is just one designer whose creations have been featured at the Firearms and Fashion Show, an event held in Chicago that showcases how to incorporate items of self defense into your wardrobe. |

A U.S. District Court judge issued an injunction Tuesday against the citizen-only requirements of Arkansas’s concealed carry laws.
This came in the case of Martin Pot, a 52-year old Dutch citizen who received his permanent resident visa in 1984, but was denied a concealed carry permit by the Arkansas State Police after he did not meet the state’s standard of being a U.S citizen. |

My first experience with the DoubleTap over/under Derringer was about two-years ago at the Shot Show when a company then called Heizer Firearms introduced a small slab-sided pistol chambered for the .45 ACP and 9 mm Luger.
The company’s ads proclaimed them to be “Aerospace Technology Firearms” that would introduce modern design, technology and materials to make truly modern firearms. |

How many Americans have been shot over the past 10 years? No one really knows. We don't even know if the number of people shot annually has gone up or down over that time.
The government's own numbers seem to conflict. One source of data on shooting victims suggests that gun-related violence has been declining for years, while another government estimate actually shows an increase in the number of people who have been shot. Each estimate is based on limited, incomplete data. Not even the FBI tracks the total number of nonfatal gunshot wounds.

Well I did it! “I survived the Task Force Dagger 3 Gun Match, at the legendary 4,500 acres training center, Legion Operator Training Center, coming in 13th place in my division. The TFD match is considered to be the 2nd hardest match in the nation. It was insane!
In recent years, the sport of 3 gun has become increasingly popular. Competitors use three different firearms for competing which includes: a modern sporting rifle, ( mostly AR’s ), a pistol and a shotgun. |

A top target for gun extremists has been the women of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, the grassroots group that began after Sandy Hook and has since merged with Michael Bloomberg's Mayors Against Illegal Guns under the Everytown banner. The battle has grown particularly ugly in Texas, where gun groups such as Open Carry Texas have conducted demonstrations showcasing their right under state law to openly carry rifles in public. The sight of groups of (mostly) men carrying semi-automatic rifles along a busy road or inside the local Jack in the Box has prompted bystanders to call police. |

After a record-high number of new concealed carry permits were issued in Ross County in 2013, the number of new licenses issued in the first quarter of this year has dropped below normal.
Just 60 new concealed carry licenses were issued in the first three months, compared with 214 issued during the same time in 2013 and 153 issued in 2012, according to figures collected by the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. |

It’s warming up, and CCW guys know what that means, dressing around that huge honkin’ piece of fire-breathing steel. Maybe you’re one of those guys who wears a photographer’s vest everywhere he goes to conceal your dual 1911s under each arm. Perhaps you simply opt to wear clothes that don’t fit, and shove a mid-sized automatic in a holster inside your waistband. Some folks say, “the hell with all that” and carry a little derringer or .22 LR revolver like a North American Arms Sidewinder inside their pocket. Me? I’m like the late poet Robert Frost — the take the road less traveled guy — and carry a bullpup 9mm pistol smaller than a J-frame Smith & Wesson. The Boberg Arms XR9s. |

Last week, the Arizona Court of Appeals reversed the lower court’s ruling and stated the city of Phoenix unconstitutionally applied its Transit Advertising Standards to the “Guns Save Lives” campaign placed by TrainMeAZ, LLC.
The case was brought by Alan Korwin, a noted publisher of gun law books, and TrainMeAZ, LLC, the company he formed in 2010 after Arizona passed its Constitutional Carry law, allowing law-abiding adults to bear arms either openly or concealed without government interference. |

Private individuals carrying weapons are becoming more commonplace. I cannot fault law-enforcement officers if a person points a gun at them or makes a move indicative of going for a weapon. The officer has a split second to decide whether to fire.
Please understand that I am not against private gun ownership in a home or business to protect against home invasions or robberies. But there must be a permitting process along with training and comprehensive background checks to weed out the incompetent from weapons. |

Members of the Eagle Point Weapons Safety Committee "overwhelmingly" agreed that the school district should not arm staff but could not come to a consensus on whether the district should remove language from its employee handbook that prohibits staff members with a concealed hangun license from carrying at school.
The 20-member committee presented its official recommendation to the school board at a meeting Wednesday evening. |

Today’s report by the WBNS News in Columbus, Ohio and the Associated Press that the Buckeye State has more than 16,000 new concealed carry licenses in circulation this year reflects a national trend that includes Washington.
However, a Monday editorial in Connecticut’s Bristol Press demonstrates that elitist newspaper editorial boards retain their disconnect with public sentiment. That editorial expressed concerns over the spike in the number of people seeking gun permits, using information from the anti-gun Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence to support gun registration. |

Shortly after that, I was speaking with my sister and brother-in-law in Indianapolis, and they asked me if I knew that the National Rifle Association was having their Leadership Convention in Indy. I said I had just seen a clip about that on the national evening news. They know of my great concern about the proliferation of guns in our society and how opposition to reasonable background checks before the purchase of guns and to outlawing certain military style rifles and large ammunition clips, etc., is almost incomprehensible to me. |

A measure to declare federal gun regulations unconstitutional in the state of Missouri was again approved by the House but may not come up again in the Senate for final approval.
The bill, titled the “Second Amendment Preservation Act,” would allow Missouri residents to sue law enforcement officers for enforcing any federal gun laws that infringe on Second Amendment rights, among other firearms-related provisions.
Critics of the measure have charged it is unconstitutional and would nullify all federal gun laws in the state. |

Handgun permit holders in Louisiana will soon be allowed to bring loaded guns into restaurants that serve alcohol.
The Louisiana State Senate overwhelmingly approved a bill Tuesday that eliminates a long-time ban on guns in restaurants where alcohol is served. The law, passed by the state House earlier this year, would also allow off-duty officers to carry their weapons into bars. Gov. Bobby Jindal’s (R) office said Wednesday he will sign the bill. |
