"Information I have received from reliable sources says the Zeta criminal organization is stepping up its ruthlessness on our side of the border. Mules who if detected would previously abandon contraband they were smuggling, must now, under threat of death for failure, protect the drug shipments they are carrying rather than abandon them. To do this, they have been ordered to carry weapons."

"And when the Zetas give an order, they expect to be obeyed."

"Neither guns nor the Constitution can provide either the will to resist or the revolutionary theory adequate to restrain and channel insurgency away from terroristic acts that undermine popular support for revolution."

"The prospective Constitutionalist revolutionary of the 21st century must, therefore, first ideologically confront the failure of Constitutionalism — in order to survey the intellectual landscape and seize upon that which comes after Constitutionalism, addressing its failures but holding true to the same Classical Liberal principles that inspired the US Founders." ...

"Firearms sales are soaring as the National Rifle Association convention commences Friday in Phoenix, Ariz."

"Jeff Reh, general counsel for Beretta USA (the American arm of Italy-based gunmaker Beretta International), told CNBC that his firm saw sales climb 66 percent in the first quarter — roughly beginning with the inauguration of Pres. Barack Obama."

"'We're still seeing an unremitted level of increased orders on the handgun side and on the rifle side,' Reh said."

"The Brady Campaign ... called on President Obama to demand a clean credit card reform bill, without the dangerous and extraneous Coburn amendment that could allow concealed handguns and openly carried AK-47s in national parks."

"'The country needs President Obama to show leadership and demand a clean bill that will not force loaded guns into our national parks and bypass a Federal court ruling and an environmental review. Families should not have to stare down loaded AK-47s on nature hikes,' Brady Campaign President Paul Helmke said. ..." ...

FULL TEXT BELOW:

Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele says Democrats in Washington want to take away the rights of law-abiding Americans to buy and own guns and are ready to mount an assault on that freedom.

Steele told thousands of people at the National Rifle Association's convention in Phoenix that the Obama administration has a theory that drug crime in Mexico could be prevented by banning guns in the United States.

Obama has said he respects Americans' Second Amendment right to bear arms, but that he favors "common sense" gun laws.

The RNC boss says Democrats are using violence reported in the news to frighten the public and push proposals that would restrict the gun rights of law-abiding people.

The Racine County District Attorney’s office said today that they have decided not to charge the armed bicyclist who was attacked by four thugs in a school zone while riding his bike.

This is not to say that you do not need to pay attention to school zones. It appears district attorneys understand the difference between an act of self defense and a criminal act. In this case, the intended victim had a clean record and did what he felt was needed to stop the attack against him. The fact he was in a school zone (within 1,000 feet of a school property) did not mean he could not defend himself against the four cowardly thugs.

We are making progress folks.

Police responding to a 911 caller reporting a cougar on the prowl in a suburban Detroit park saw what looked like the big cat hiding in a discarded section of cement drain pipe.

So Warren police on Monday shot a Taser electroshock weapon - hitting what turned out to be a large toy cougar right in the stuffing.
This is the same police department that recently killed a 16-year-old boy because he presented a "threat" to police by running (all 110 pounds of him) after a traffic stop. His crime? Expired license tags.

Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said the NYPD is investigating the near-fatal beating as a "possible bias attack."

Williams was in serious condition in a surgical ICU room at St. Vincent's Hospital Manhattan Thursday night - his swollen head wrapped in gauze, a tube down his throat.
