With an overall size smaller than, well, other mid-size pistols of Austrian descent, the MC2c has impressive capacity, with 13 rounds available in the flush-fit magazine and an extended version that holds 15 rounds also included. While Second Amendment backers failed to get Macomb County declared a “sanctuary” region two months aqo, those who oppose gun violence got officials to back an anti-gun violence resolution.
After a motion to remove the item from the agenda failed in a 6-6 vote, the board, without discussion and by a 12-0 vote Wednesday approved a resolution that supports June 5 as sixth National Gun Violence Awareness Day. Commissioner Elizabeth Lucido was absent. |

The shooting happened Thursday night at the Dellway Villa Apartments, located just off Dickerson Pike.
According to police, 20-year-old Phillip Sullivan said he had just left an apartment when 18-year-old Qamaurio Williams allegedly approached him in the breezeway, grabbed him and demanded money at gunpoint.
Sullivan said he pulled his gun and shot Williams multiple times. Williams was taken to Skyline Medical Center where he died. Neither man lived at the apartment complex. |

On May 13, 2020 at approximately 6:32 PM, Texas County deputies responded to a report of a shooting in the 1700 block of Highway 17 south of Summersville. Upon arriving at the scene deputies located a deceased male from the result of a gunshot wound. The alleged shooter was present and cooperated with investigators. The subject was transported to the Texas County Justice Center for investigation and was later released. |

Brace yourself because we’re about to enter a partisan/cultural/societal minefield. There is also a racial and ethnic component that adds even more fuel to an already heated debate.
“Stand Your Ground” laws, passed in individual states, typically permit people to defend themselves with force — often including lethal force — in places where the person is legally allowed to be. While that might seem like it has always been that way, this is actually a change in the law. |
