The (Nevada) Assembly on Monday approved 32-8 a bill to let those with concealed weapons permits carry as many guns as they want.
Assembly Minority Leader Lynn Hettrick (R-Gardnerville), contended that only law-abiding citizens will secure the permits to carry multiple concealed weapons. He maintained they have a constitutional right to have those weapons. Criminals will do as they wish, regardless of any law, he said. "A deranged person never will be stopped by a piece of paper," said Assemblyman Bernie Anderson (D-Sparks).
Assemblyman Morse Arberry (D-N.LasVegas), spoke against Senate Bill 172, saying it would lead to black men being shot by police. Arberry said police "aren't going to ask for papers" or concealed weapons permits when they see young black men with five guns.

Jeff Elkins: "MSNBC, in its documentary The .50-caliber militia has been kind enough to reveal the true nature of one of the state’s most noxious congresspersons: Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA)... Waxman wants to reclassify all .50 caliber rifles as either destructive devices or Class III weapons, thus making them effectively unavailable to commoners. Actually, what Waxman really wants is to take away all your guns… so he can enslave you – or kill you." |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
Some of the worst abuses of government force in recent years were precipitated by technical and victimless gun-law violations. For example, the BATF claimed that the Branch Davidians possessed machine guns without paying the required federal tax and filling in the proper registration forms. So a tax case worth less than $10,000 led to a 76-man helicopter, machine gun, and grenade assault on a home in which 2/3 of the occupants were women and children. — Dave Kopel and Dr. Michael S.
