The NRA has launched a new program that protects gun owners who use a firearm in self-defense.
“NRA Carry Guard is the most comprehensive coverage, legal assistance, training and insurance for law-abiding Second Amendment practitioners,” said NRA spokesperson Dana Loesch to the FOX Business Network’s Stuart Varney. “We live in a very contiguous society where criminals even sue their victims—it’s horrific and they win.” |

Roy Jones’ Facebook page says matter-of-factly that his concealed weapons training is “not your typical gun class.”
That is an understatement.
Jones, 67, has taught most of his more than 5,000 students over the last decade in churches across Oklahoma. What’s more, he weaves biblical passages into his talks about how to handle a gun, and the legal fallout that can follow discharging a weapon in self-defense. |

As the legislative session winds down to it’s last few weeks, a controversial gun bill is still making its way through the process. The bill would remove the requirements of conceal and carry permits, letting anyone carry a gun however they choose. While law enforcement have come out against the bill, others think it’s something this state needs.

The gun control crowd obviously gets caught up the an internal emotional entanglement that keeps them from seeing the practical logic of the issue, but one writer at the Huffington Post has taken his gun control compulsion to a new level of insanity probably not seen before.
Justin Curmi who blogs for Huffington Post appears to believe Communism is a good idea. His stance on self-defense and the 2nd Amendment is also not only outrageous but clearly lacks any logic, reasoning, or care for human beings, including his own family members.

At the National Rifle Association’s annual meeting this Friday, one of the featured speakers was former White Sox first baseman Adam LaRoche, who famously quit professional baseball when his team wouldn’t let his son Drake join him in the team clubhouse before and after games. LaRoche talked about the importance of fatherhood, his joy in teaching his son hunting, and his work with charities fighting sex trafficking. His remarks concluded, Chris Cox, executive director of the NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action, gave father and son gifts on behalf of the organization, a pair of Daniel Defense AR-15 rifles with suppressors. |

Should anyone who's got a permit be able to carry a gun onto any of Maine's public university and college campuses? That's the question being debated at the state house. Backers of a new bill want to make it legal for someone with a concealed weapon permit to carry a gun onto campus without getting permission from that school's Board of Trustees. |

The number of gun-related background checks in April remained near record levels, FBI statistics released on Monday show. The National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) ran 2,045,564 gun-related checks in April. That represents a decrease of about a hundred thousand checks from the all-time record for the month of April set in 2016. It also is a drop of almost four hundred thousand from March as the gun industry enters its seasonal low period. |

The firearms industry has, at times in its history, been accused of being hidebound, stuck in the past and resistant to innovation, but there’s plenty of evidence that is no longer true. As a case in point, consider the Spanish manufacturer Bergara, which found success over the past 10 years producing aftermarket replacement barrels and OEM barrels for rifle makers. Bergara’s approach was to wed an old technology—button rifling—to state-of-the-art machinery, robotics and exacting processes to mass-produce affordable, custom-quality barrels from the finest Spanish stainless steel. Bergara succeeded, in part, thanks to guidance from the late Ed Shilen, a legendary precision barrel-maker. |

Gov. Nathan Deal urged civilian police departments to tighten security around college campuses as he weighs whether to sign a sweeping gun rights expansion that would legalize more firearms on university property. Deal has signaled he’s likely to sign the controversial proposal after lawmakers acceded to his demands for more exceptions to the measure. The Legislature’s refusal to add those exemptions last year to another “campus carry” proposal last year helped spur the governor’s veto of the measure. |

You’ve heard of the “day in the life of” an interesting person or public figure. Well now, new ballistic technology is helping federal agents and police create a day in the life of the guns being used by criminals terrorizing America’s neighborhoods-- especially those in Chicago. It’s called the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN). Basically when police recover a gun or shell casing from a crime scene, they immediately enter that data into the NIBIN—which now has created a valuable story for tens of thousands of guns still on the streets and those recovered from bad guys. |

I’m a casual gun owner.
I don’t own a handgun, because I don’t need it. Most of my guns are long arms inherited from family. Until recently, only one was military in any form – a Korean War era M1 Garand – for which I have several cans of military surplus ammunition. I also have some shotguns, of various gages.
I believe in gun rights, and I have a perfectly clear understanding of what the founding fathers intended for gun rights. They were big fans of “inalienable rights,” the chief of which is the right to defend yourself from others who might want to take those rights. |

Who wins in a fight between an AK-47 and a piece of glass? It might seem like an easy question, but glass can be stronger than you might think. Perhaps you've heard of the Prince Rupert's Drop, a type of glass crystal with an almost impossible amount of strength. The bulb of a PRD can withstand tremendous amounts of force, although the tail is vulnerable—and if it breaks the whole crystal shatters.

Some people just don’t understand. They can’t grasp simple things. They look for complexities, when simple details lie before them. They accuse others, but it is they who are guilty. Last week, The Daily Star's editorial board accused gun owners of being “exploited by fear-mongering.” It maintained that gun owners have been duped by the NRA and other gun organizations into a buying frenzy by claiming that Presidents Clinton and Obama were going to confiscate their guns.

Gun enthusiasts on Friday filed a federal challenge to one of California’s recently signed “gunpocalypse” bills, with four civil rights groups and seven individuals claiming the ban on the possession of high-capacity magazines violates their Second Amendment rights. The measure, Senate Bill 1446, is one of several gun-related bills passed by the California Legislature and signed into law by Gov. Jerry Brown last year.
