Scott Kane went 38 years without ever touching a gun. That streak would have continued had it not been for the coronavirus. In March, fearful of the harassment his wife and child experienced over their Asian ancestry, Kane found himself in a California gun shop. His March 11 purchase of a 9mm would have been the end of the story, were it not for a political standoff over shutdown orders and background checks. Now Kane, a former supporter of gun-control measures and AR-15 bans, is frustrated by the arduous process that has denied his family a sense of security. The pandemic has made the soft-spoken software engineer an unlikely Second Amendment supporter. |

If Lisa McCormick is this tough on Democrats, how bad will she beat up Republicans?
Lisa McCormick is a Democrat, through and through. She has talked about repealing the Second Amendment, retooling our economy to work without fossil fuels and increasing taxes on the rich to give bigger Social Security checks to retired senior citizens, a quality education to all our children, and health coverage to every American. |

Information is still emerging about the case of Ahmaud Arbery — the unarmed 25-year-old slain on a quiet Georgia street — but what is known is disturbing. Two men eventually arrested in the killing told police that Arbery was running down the road and that they thought he was a burglar and shot him in self-defense. A third man was arrested Thursday. Before state officials intervened, following months of delay, a prosecutor cited Georgia’s stand-your-ground law as an exonerating factor.

The liberal wing of the High Court sided with Respondent in the New York City gun transport case. No surprise there. The liberal wing of the Court detests the Second Amendment.
Chief Justice John Roberts joined the liberal wing. Robert’s vote gave the liberal wing of the Court—Ginsburg, Breyer, Sotomayor, and Kagan—the critical fifth vote needed to secure victory for the Anti-Second Amendment, Anti-Bill of Rights crowd. A huge disappointment, of course, but no surprise there either, unfortunately. The two-page majority opinion went unsigned. |

Second, many Americans don’t understand the Second Amendment. It wasn’t placed in the U.S. Constitution for hunters. It was placed there to allow the citizens of the United States to own firearms for self-defense and to insure the security of a free state. Some believe only the military should have guns, but the Second amendment specifically intended to allow everyday citizens the ability to protect themselves and their country. We as citizens are guardians of the Second Amendment. No one should be neutral on the Second amendment. It is our duty to uphold it. The Second amendment protects the rest of the Bill of Rights. Younger Americans need to understand the importance of the Second amendment. |

The data is in: Americans are flocking to gun stores in unprecedented numbers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The spike has left many gun control advocates struggling to find a motive other than pure, irrational panic. After all, the common narrative goes, “the good guy with a gun” is a myth and it’s very rare that any law-abiding Americans have to defend themselves at gunpoint.
Enter The Heritage Foundation’s new Defensive Gun Use Database to help make sense of why so many Americans are now racing to exercise their Second Amendment rights, often for the first time. |

The raging Dr. Jennifer Rager-Kay made news earlier this week when a private social media post she wrote became public. The Pennsylvania physician and school board member had threatened to shoot anyone not wearing a mask who approached her or her family.
As a result of the predictable blowback she’s received for making the threat, Dr. Rager-Kay has resigned her school board position. But in her resignation letter, she manages to deflect all blame for what’s happened and portray herself as a victim, while also blaming — wait for it — gun owners. |
