Canada is giving Americans a very vivid example of what could have happened if, say, in D.C. v. Heller (2008), just one more justice in that 5-4 decision had fallen for the unhistorical lie that the Second Amendment doesn’t protect an individual right.

Once upon a time, and not so long ago, you wouldn’t have one in your safe. Gun stocks were shaped like the working end of a hockey stick. They were designed specifically with the new shooter in mind — the soldiers returning from World War I.

The latest piece of Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s gun reform platform is now official - with her signature on a bill greenlighting so-called "red flag laws" also known as Extreme Risk Protection Orders.
They allow cops, mental health professionals and worried family members to get a firearm taken away from a person believed to be a danger to themselves or others.
"We have heard too many times from those who knew a mass shooter who had expressed concern in advance about that mass shooter’s intentions," Whitmer said earlier today. "We’ve seen situations where local police flagged someone or even spoke to them about their violent statements but weren’t able to take any further course of action.

New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham knows exactly where to go to get fawning media coverage and an agreeable viewing audience for her all-call gun control platform. Gov. Lujan Grisham joined MSNBC’s Morning Joe just days following the murders of three innocent Americans by a mentally troubled 18-year old. She knew there would be no serious pushback or correcting by the host of her false statements about firearms and lies about the firearm industry. |

Gun owners should be running the country given our numbers, at least that’s how it appears on paper.
According to Ballotpedia data from last year, of the 31 states that allow voters to publicly indicate their political party affiliation, roughly 48 million were Democrats and 36 million were Republicans.

Each year, approximately 40,000 Americans are killed by gunshot wounds, which is roughly equivalent to the annual rate of traffic deaths on American roads and highways.

There are over twenty million issued carry permits now in the United States, and bear in mind that this is in a nation that now has over half of the states honoring Constitutional Carry, thus requiring no permit at all to carry concealed. This is a good thing. On any given day, there are millions of American citizens carrying guns, and the majority of these guns are being carried concealed. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
"And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling in terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? [...] The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt!" —Alexander Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago (Chapter 1 "Arrest") |
