Hunters and shooters across North America love their 30-caliber cartridges. With the popularization of the 30-06 Springfield, the .308” diameter bullet became synonymous with stopping power and long range precision. However, hunters and shooters wanted more power, muzzle velocity, and a flatter trajectory – and so, the magnum craze began. |

We know the 250-grain “Keith” slug traveling at 1,400 FPS is as good as it gets. Or do we? As a bullet caster, it’s easier keeping track of alloy used than actual bullets expended. Since it takes 100 lbs. of alloy to make 2,800 Keith bullets, I’m going to say I’ve easily shot thousands of pounds of Keith bullets over the years. I love the .44 Keith slug for many reasons. |

You may remember Dianna Muller from when she testified before Congress in 2019. At the time, she boldly stated that she “would not comply” if they instituted another so-called “assault-weapons” ban. Having been given only moments to speak, she didn’t have time to explain much more in that hearing, but it was enough. Many—especially those in the mainstream media—seemed surprised by such a strong statement, especially coming from a retired police officer. |

Deer hunters would be able to use semi-automatic rifles during a newly created antlerless season in January under a bill approved by lawmakers Tuesday and sent to the governor. The measure given final approval by the House is designed to help control the deer population and respond to complaints that excess deer eat corn and are hazardous to motorists.

In a statement Tuesday night, Gov. Ned Lamont decried the “devastating” news of a mass shooting at an Uvalde, Texas elementary school, while calling for stricter gun control laws both locally and federally. “One life taken by gun violence is too many, but 15 innocent lives, including 14 children, is an utter tragedy,” Lamont said in a statement. “Nearly ten years after Sandy Hook, Connecticut knows this feeling all too well. Our collective hearts and prayers go out to the families in Uvalde trying to process the unimaginable. |

Some guns are more than just popular, they are defining for a generation. In the history of American military firearms, the M1 Garand – or Rifle, Caliber .30, M1 as it was designated – shines as one of the most memorable and respected. The Garand rifle was one of those things that came into being just in time to make a big splash on the battlefield. In doing so, it earned the love of the service members who used it. That fact is well illustrated by a poem I’ve seen pop up from time to time. |

A 70-year-old Florida woman is waiting to see whether she will face criminal charges for fatally shooting a 38-year-old home intruder Sunday at her residence in Orange County in what may become another test of the Sunshine State’s stand-your-ground law.
According to WRBW/Fox News 35, Virginia Morrison reportedly gave Ezequiel Rosario-Torres an opportunity to leave, and even tried to hit him with a broom to get him out of her house after he entered Sunday afternoon. She even told the intruder she was armed. |

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) is pushing for a minimum age of 21 for the purchase of “assault weapons” and “high capacity” magazines. Feinstein’s office announced her push for a minimum purchase age, referring to the legislation as the Age 21 Act. Her office noted that the Act is a response to the May 14, 2022, Buffalo attack in which the “shooter was an 18-year-old who was legally allowed to purchase an assault rifle, even though it remains illegal for anyone under 21 to buy a handgun.” |

As of this writing, the people of Ukraine are locked in a life-and-death struggle with the invading Russian military in the most significant warfare seen in Europe since World War II. Some of the many men and women, young and old, who have chosen to stay and fight for the future of their democracy could be seen on nightly newscasts prior to the invasion training with wooden dummy guns or actual firearms—outdoors, in homes and at ranges—in scenarios that recall scenes from the 2012 film remake of “Red Dawn.” But the fighting in Ukraine is real, with Russian troops, elite forces and even mercenaries striking in deliberate attacks on civilians. |

Ten years ago, the Obama Administration introduced “Operation Choke Point,” a program to weaponize the banking industry and financial service providers against certain lawful businesses and merchants. Implemented by Eric Holder’s Department of Justice and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), the ostensible objective was to fight consumer fraud by cutting off access to credit and bank services for businesses classified as “high risk” (e.g., online gambling sites, escort services, payday loan operations, and those that had a higher incidence of consumer complaints, returns, or chargebacks). |
