Former President Donald Trump urged gun owners to vote in the 2024 election as he addressed thousands of members of the National Rifle Association, which officially endorsed him just before Trump took the stage at their annual meeting in Texas on Saturday.
“We’ve got to get gun owners to vote," Trump said. “I think you’re a rebellious bunch. But let’s be rebellious and vote this time." |

Hunter Biden on Monday requested that a Delaware federal court delay his trial on weapons charges, which is set to begin next month.
His attorneys claim there is no urgent need to start the trial on its scheduled June 3 date, and that the current schedule leaves too little time between when the Delaware trial ends and a separate California tax charge trial begins.
The president’s son faces charges related to possessing a firearm while under the influence of drugs. Prosecutors claim that Biden lied on a form indicating that he was not using drugs at the time. |

Former President Donald J. Trump gave the keynote address at the recent NRA Annual Meeting in Dallas and had some important words for those in attendance. He urged attendees to get excited, go back home and spread the word, get active ahead of the upcoming national election and – most importantly – to vote.
Just before speaking to the crowd, the former president – the presumptive 2024 Republican party nominee for The White House – received the endorsement of the NRA.

We've known for decades that America has a gun problem.
About 46,000 of us die each year from guns, about 19,000 of which are homicides. By the end of April this year, there have been 171 mass shootings which, glory hallelujah, is actually on pace to fall short of the 600 or so in 2023.
No other country in the world has a citizenry as well-armed as those of us who live in the United States. It's now estimated that Americans — there are roughly 336 million of us — own about 415 million firearms. |

Christian activists will show people this Saturday how to turn weapons of violence into instruments of peace using a hammer − and some faith − to forge guns into garden tools.
The event, hosted by Delaware and Maryland churches belonging to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, is an effort to get people to think differently about guns and how to handle conflict without violence. The "Youtherans," young people who attend Lutheran churches in Delaware and Maryland, are also organizing this free event at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, north of Wilmington. |

"Joe Biden expanded background checks, and is fighting to ban assault weapons," the text reads.
Over a video of a mouth speaking, the words "Donald Trump did nothing to keep us safe" appear.
The ad concludes with a final image of the Bidens at a Uvalde memorial and the words, "I'll never forget, I'll never stop fighting."
The 30-second ad is part of the campaign's seven-figure media ad buy for May targeting Latino voters. It will run in the battleground states of Arizona, Pennsylvania, and Nevada and will also include subtitles in Spanish. |

The National Safety Council reported there were 463 preventable injury-related deaths from a firearm. That was a decrease of 15.5 percent from 10 years ago and a 39.2 percent drop from 20 years ago. The 2022 figures were only behind 2018 and 2014 when 458 and 461 preventable injury-related deaths, respectively, were reported. The National Safety Council began tracking these figures in 1903.
Percentage of overall preventable injury-related deaths from firearms improved as well. Just 0.2 percent of preventable injury-related deaths in 2022 were reported to be from firearms. That was a 0.1 percent decrease from both 2018 and 2014 reports. |

“Chicago Judge Releases Venezuelan Immigrant Allegedly Armed with Gun and 43 Rounds of Ammo,” Breitbart reported Wednesday.
In a rare situation where it could claim partial credit, ShotSpotter gunshot detection technology factored into 21-year-old Venezuela native Jan Torres-Roman’s arrest, but in fairness, it took police seeing him running with a gun in hand to clinch their interest. But, with wokeness being what it is, Chi-Town Mayor Brandon Johnson has pledged to scrap the detectors over allegations of racial bias – right after the Democrat Convention. |

The 23-page brief was submitted by attorneys Thomas R. McCarthy and Tiffany H. Bates of Arlington, Va. It outlines the history of firearms litigation and explains why Congress adopted the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA) during the George W. Bush administration. |

The defense also highlighted several arguments related to the Second Amendment. They asserted that the statute under which Biden is charged should only apply if the person is armed and actively intoxicated, using the weapon in a way that terrifies or endangers others. Since there is no evidence that Biden ever loaded, fired, displayed, or threatened anyone with the firearm, and because he did not possess the firearm throughout the entire period from purchase to disposal, his attorneys argued that the Special Counsel cannot meet the burden of proof.
On top of that, Biden’s lawyers argued that the jury instructions proposed by prosecutors unlawfully expand the scope of the gun-control law and violate the Second Amendment. |

The families of 19 victims of the Uvalde school shooting announced new lawsuits Friday against Instagram parent company Meta Platforms, the maker of the video game Call of Duty, and the gun company that made the assault rifle used in the shooting.
The lawsuits against Meta, Activision, and Daniel Defense were announced on the two-year anniversary of the attack on Robb Elementary School.
They accuse the companies of partnering to promote and create content designed to glorify combat, gun violence, and killing that effectively trained the teenage shooter before he killed 19 students and two teachers in one of the deadliest school shooting in U.S. history. |
