"Because of perceived credibility simply from being an influential political media organization, its findings are taken more seriously by some than, say, a Mark Dice petitioning video, which is really too bad, because at least his efforts demonstrate how astonishingly ignorant and unable to critically think many respondents can be."

"They’ve not only shown us their end goals, and what a ridiculous lie every one of them who parrots the ubiquitous “No one wants to take your guns” talking point is telling, but they’ve also relieved us of any obligation to respond to them except in kind."

Is America Starting To Target Thought Crime?

Last week, Michelle Obama made headlines when she exhorted graduating high schoolers in a commencement address to monitor their families for politically incorrect thoughts and behaviors.
To one journalist, this was more than an off-hand comment made by the first lady. In the opinion of Cheryl Chumley, a reporter for The Washington Times and the author of “Police State USA,” Michelle Obama’s remark reflects a growing trend in America to target and attack individuals for committing “thought crime.”

SUBMITTER'S COMMENT: Remember the woman who sued to have the word "gun" removed from all of her child's teaching materials?
She lost, but would she lose today?
If you can control the words, you can control the thoughts.

Tannerite can be a lot of fun as a reactive target, but did you know large quantities can make an explosion big enough to take down a barn? Check out the video!

A man who was arrested for carrying a holstered handgun into a movie theater a week after the Aurora shootings in 2012 received a $25,000 settlement check from the city of Thornton last week, according to Denver’s 7News.
Jim Mapes had a concealed-carry permit and said he’d carried his gun to the same theater several times in the past. Another theater-goer called 911, saying a man with a weapon had just entered a movie theater. He was originally charged with brandishing the weapon, which Mapes denied.
“It never left my holster,” he told the station. And although the gun was carried openly rather than being concealed, his lawyer said that’s never been against the law in Thornton.

Senator Richard Blumenthal said on Sunday he wanted to revive gun control legislation rejected by Congress in the wake of the 2012 Newtown, Connecticut, school massacre, saying it could have helped prevent this weekend's deadly California shooting spree.

SUBMITTER'S COMMENT: This contemptible fraud lied repeatedly about his military service, falsely claiming to have served in Vietnam. You usually don't have to examine a gun grabber too carefully to find something reprehensible.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel is proposing a far-reaching ordinance that would keep gun stores out of most parts of the city and require them to videotape every sale to deter customers from buying firearms for crooks.
The ordinance is a response to a federal judge’s ruling in January that Chicago’s longtime ban on gun stores was unconstitutional.
Emanuel chose not to fight the decision, and the court gave the city six months to approve store restrictions short of a ban. The deadline is July 14.

A young man stabbed three people and shot three people next to the University of Santa Barbara campus Friday evening. This should teach us what makes us safe and what doesn't. This should teach us, but we don’t want to learn. Evidence says gun control doesn't work, but we won’t learn from our mistakes. Instead, liberal politicians will double down on gun control and claim it is for the children. The media will support them.

Here comes the new tragedy, same as the old tragedy.. until we learn.

El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa is embroiled in accusations of sex with subordinates, abusive treatment of employees and dismantling oversight of the office budget that could stain his 12-year career and sink future prospects for one of the most powerful local Republicans.
Maketa allegedly has had sexual relationships with three female subordinates for years, traveling with them using public funds, promoting them to top jobs despite objections from commanders and threatening anyone he suspected of mentioning the relationships, according to interviews and documents obtained by The Gazette.

Criminals Commit Suicide by Citizen

It used to be called suicide by cop. Now we see suicide by citizen. The citizen has the right of self-defense, so “Give me your money or I’ll kill you” is likely to get the criminal killed even if the criminal is only armed with his finger inside his jacket pocket. The way I see it, the criminals chose suicide by citizen.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
Some writers have so confounded society with government, as to leave little or no distinction between them; whereas they are not only different, but have different origins ... Society is in every state a blessing, but Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state, an intolerable one. — THOMAS PAINE
