"The Second Amendment Foundation recently filed two important suits that, when one cuts through all the legal language, essentially challenge government hostility toward two U.S. Supreme Court rulings on the Second Amendment."

"One suit is aimed at the District of Columbia, where city officials have engaged in a series of actions deliberately designed to allow the city to dance around the landmark 2008 Heller ruling that struck down the District’s handgun ban as a violation of the right to keep and bear arms."

"The other case is against the State of Illinois, which sidestepped an opportunity to adopt legislation that would allow Prairie State citizens to legally carry loaded handguns for their personal protection." ...

"Monday, May 30, will be Memorial Day--a day for baseball, auto races and barbecue, certainly--but far more importantly a day to celebrate the courage of the men and women who have died in service to our nation, defending our freedom. This nation was built on, and sustained by, the blood of those willing to sacrifice everything for it."

"Dedicated Armed Intelligentsia members are well aware that RF isn't a fan of mouse guns. He makes a fair case that you're better off with nothing. Number one on his hit parade of reasons is that someone trying to shoot an attacker, given the adrenaline rush, low light, moving target, etc. – not to mention the inherent difficulty in shooting a pint-sized pea-shooter – is likely to miss. Without plenty of practice, that is. Well, I like my pocket gun. And I practice with it, so I'm pretty accurate. But throw in the heat-of-the-moment pressures and, just like being skinny, you can never be too accurate. So I figured I'd up the ante a little…" ...

"The NRA sold out the Second Amendment during the Patriot Act fight, criticizing Senator Rand Paul's amendment to exempt gun purchases from search provisions of the Patriot Act in e-mails to Congress while sitting on information showing the need for Paul's amendment. "Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty now wants to be the Republican candidate for president."

"When Pawlenty was thinking about running for governor for a third term, I decided to challenge him for the party’s endorsement. My challenge started with a simple statement and a list of grievances."

"I said, 'No more!' — and I do not apologize! Why no more? Because:" ...

"• He claims to support Second Amendment rights but has proposed no state constitutional amendment to guarantee the right to keep and bear arms." ...
-------

Submitter's Note: In addition to everything above, Tim lies. In October 2006, facing a very tight reelection battle, Tim met with the leadership of the Gun Owners' Civil Rights Alliance and told them that if GOCRA supported him, he would direct the Department of Public Safety to start obeying the law regarding permit to carry (MN's CCW law) reciprocity requirements. This did not involve passing new legislation or anything of that sort, it only would have required a quick call to the Commissioner of the DPS telling him to quit screwing around and follow the law the way it was written.
