And now, since the congregation has been seated, please join me in singing the praises of one of the most important yet overlooked constituents of the firearms community. Without these unsung heroes, the shooting world would be less organized and far more exposed to the vagaries of an unfriendly world. |

Handgun cartridge naming is an aspect of firearm ownership that can be confusing to new shooters at first – and if you decide to get yourself a full-size Sig Sauer 1911 or Glock 21, you might note on the barrel that it says, “45 Auto.” Excited to get some ammo for your new sidearm, you peruse the gun store shelves and are dismayed to only find boxes labeled, “45 ACP.” |

North Carolina-based Angstadt Arms has long been a serious player in the small gun space but the company's new roller-delayed blowback MDP-9 is something different. The company, which had been tapped to compete in the Army's recent micro-sized sub-gun competition, introduced the original MDP-9 at SHOT Show a few years back. Set up to take Glock mags, the $2,599 Gen 1 gun ditched the straight-blowback format of the company's UDP-9 for a roller-delayed system that cuts out the need for a buffer tube and creates a softer shooting and more compact firearm-- one that ran just 14 inches long and hit the scales at around 3.6 pounds. |

Springfield Armory on Tuesday debuted two new variants of the ordinary all-black Echelon 9mm pistol that now make it available to fans of Desert FDE or OD Green. Springfield released the Echelon last July, which feels like an upsized version of the extremely popular and hard-serving Hellcat Pro but with a novel Variable Interface System that uses self-locking pins to allow the user to configure the necessary optic footprint, without needing to use any plates. Essentially the VIS allows a direct mount for something like 30 different optics. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
For, in principle, there is no difference between a law prohibiting the wearing of concealed arms, and a law forbidding the wearing such as are exposed; and if the former be unconstitutional, the latter must be so likewise. But it should not be forgotten, that it is not only a part of the right that is secured by the constitution; it is the right entire and complete, as it existed at the adoption of the constitution; and if any portion of that right be impaired, immaterial how small the part may be, and immaterial the order of time at which it be done, it is equally forbidden by the constitution. [Bliss vs. Commonwealth, 12 Ky. (2 Litt.) 90, at 92, and 93, 13 Am. Dec. 251 (1822) |
