"'It’s worth examining the Hofstra killing in light of the constant mantra from the National Rifle Association that the best way to deter gun-toting criminals is to arm as many ordinary citizens as possible. But in this case, it wasn’t a civilian who made a mistake. It was a trained cop. And if cops can make mistakes, what can we expect of civilians?' Mike Kelly of nj.com‘s referring to a recent police shooting wherein a beat cop entered a house with a known hostage situation and shot both the perp and the hostage. Kelly’s conclusion. If cops can’t get it done with a gun, civilians shouldn’t even try. As our regular readers no doubt know . . ." ... |

"St. Louis Gun Rights Examiner has been very much caught up in the excitement about 3-D printed guns, but there is no denying that at the moment, and for the foreseeable future, printing an entire gun out of plastic is quite likely the least sensible approach for acquiring useful firepower. As a proof of concept, and as a shot across the bow of 'government monopoly on force' advocates like the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence and Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), it's perfect, but if you need to anonymously acquire a 'regime change rifle' right now, don't look for it to come out of a printer." ... |

"The gun rights debate in the United States has been smouldering for decades, but has become white hot since Newtown. And while the gun rights advocates are a very large and vocal group, they don’t do the whole 'polished presentation' thing very well. Michael Bloomberg, with his bottomless wallet, does a great job of putting out slick propaganda pieces, but gun rights advocates don’t seem to have the same kind of capabilities. That’s where Kris Koeing comes in, a filmmaker from California who is wrapping up production on a new documentary, ‘Assaulted: Civil Rights Under Fire‘. The film looks at the gun control debate in the United States and will be released in theaters on June 20th. ..." ... |

"Gun-control advocates are compulsive liars. They have to be because the truth doesn’t support their agenda. Ongoing claims that 90 percent of Americans ... support 'universal background checks' for gun purchases was a lie when it was first uttered and has become an even bigger lie as time passes. The pronouncement that 40 percent of guns sold each year are sold through 'private sales' with no background checks is a lie. Claims that gun control is needed to 'make our children and our communities safer' is a lie. ..."

"I am fairly new to gun forums but been shooting and buying guns well before Glocks were invented and during the time when the 9mm was considered a caliber best suited for those who pee sitting down. One of the things I notice about gun forums is that they tend to distort reality. By its very nature, gun forums attract those who are into guns much more than most. However, some fail to recognize that gun forum members are a very small part of gun owners and sometimes forum members tend to think things are as they read in their forums. He got tired and parked behind a building in Readington Township, a quiet, rural area of the state near the Pennsylvania line. One of the things I have found in looking at Texas lawmen history and the gun culture here is the use of the do it all carbine. The 30/30 has the ability to do good work on every type of game animal in the state, and also has a long history of working well on two legged vermin as well. "GUNMAKERS SLOUGHING off their responsibility for preventing weapons from getting into the hands of maniacs landed like a thud in Newtown, Conn., Tuesday."
"'What we have learned since 12/14 is eye opening,' said Monte Frank of the Newtown Action Alliance, referring to the December date of the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School."
"'The gun industry profits immensely from the proliferation of illegal guns, and they have lobbied hard to keep the spigot on.'" ... -------
KABA Note: According to the FBI's UCR, in 2011 there were about 266,000 murders, assaults and robberies committed with firearms. Let's assume that 4 out of 5 criminals already had access to a gun and didn't need to buy a new one. This means that the Eee-vil Gun Companies sold about about 53,200 guns to criminals in 2011. According to the NSSF and ATF's figures, in 2011 Americans bought about 6,400,000 guns. So the "immense" profits that gun companies garner from "the proliferation of illegal guns" amounts to less than 1% of their sales. |

"The Marxists and other left-wingers in our government are relentlessly undermining the Constitution in their efforts to kill American’s gun rights."
"Initially they followed an incremental attack — they slowly removed one right after another, chipping away, always moving forward to their ultimate goal to register, ban and confiscate all firearms."
"Now they’re moving faster, attempting to circumvent the Constitution by signing the U.N.’s Small Arms Treaty, which would require international licensing, international gun database, and an international ban on all private sales. ..." ... |

"With all the high profile shootings in recent years, guns have again taken center stage in the national political arena. Gun control was a big issue in the 90s, but seemed to take a hiatus of sorts for over a decade."
"Probably because it's almost impossible to address in any real way, hence rendering it a losing political issue. The House of Representatives is working on a two-year election cycle, so your local member of Congress probably isn't a 'big picture' type." ... |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. ~ Marcus Tullius Cicero (42B.C) |
