There were 27 shootings in Baltimore over the Memorial day weekend. 19 people were robbed in New York City. Chicago had 12 people shot to death and an additional 47 shot and wounded over the same weekend.
In response, Josh Earnest, the White House press secretary, called for more gun control.
We are talking about the bluest of the blue cities that have lived under strict democrat control for decades. They epitomize the democrat machine from business regulation, kickbacks from unionized government workers, to gun control. The bluest of the blue.
The big government dems have run out of scapegoats. The president’s spokesman needs a distraction.. so he blamed guns.

Currently, Senator Joe Uecker (R-14) is circulating a memo for co-sponsorship that would allow an employee to store a firearm in their locked vehicle without fear of employer retribution.
Throughout the country, many employers have adopted “No Firearms” policies that extend beyond the physical workplace to include employee parking lots – areas often accessible to the general public and not secure. In order to comply with these policies, many employees must choose between protecting themselves during their commutes and being subject to termination by their employer. |

Recently, there has been much rekindled and rehashed debate on whether striker-fired guns are the spawn of Satanic fire-breathing seahorses or the most effective self-defense technology ever to grace a holster.
Some folks remain convinced that striker-fired guns like Glocks have trigger-press motions that are too easy and too short. According to this view, negligent and unintended discharges are bound to happen, more so than with other designs. Under stress, your body does weird things, one of which is a sympathetic muscular response. |

The case is an important reminder about the debate over the controversial laws. Thirty-three states have adopted some form of Stand Your Ground law, according to the American Bar Association. Ten states have introduced bills to repeal or scale back their Stand Your Ground laws this year, and 13 states have pending legislation to strengthen or enact such laws.
Florida was the first state to enact such legislation, in 2005, under then Gov. Jeb Bush, who is currently a Republican presidential candidate. Florida essentially immunizes a person from criminal prosecution or civil action, provided he proves the use of force was necessary to prevent death or serious harm. |

Significant changes limiting the reach of legislation requiring Texas universities to allow concealed handguns on campus may be in danger as House and Senate lawmakers work out their differences on the bill.
Senate Bill 11 narrowly avoided becoming a casualty of a key midnight deadline on Tuesday after House lawmakers brokered a last-minute deal to accept several amendments.
In the Senate on Thursday, the bill's author, state Sen. Brian Birdwell, requested a conference committee on the legislation to work out differences between the two chambers. |

Women have emerged as one of the fastest-growing demographics of new gun buyers and concealed carry permit holders in the country, and in the process, they have become a driving force in the shift in American attitudes from pro-gun control to pro-gun rights.
In January, The San Diego Union-Tribune reported that “women [are] buying more guns than ever.” And the result of this surge in women gun buyers has been an expansion of firearms and firearms accessories made to cater to the female market.

As NRA’s new president, I am grateful to serve with you to preserve America’s unique freedoms.
I first encountered the National Rifle Association as an 11-year-old growing up in Ohio. Mentored by the NRA in the 1950s by men who had a passion for owning firearms and shooting, I learned the true meaning of our Second Amendment. |

The body count continues to grow in Baltimore, with a 31-year-old mother and a seven-year-old boy becoming the 37th and 38th murder victims of May today. It hasn’t been this bloody in Baltimore since November 1999, during the Clinton Presidency, and we still have several more days remaining in the month.
Arrests have now declined by more than half as police strike a defensive posture, having been thrown to the wolves by a city government pandering to the criminal underclass who elected them over the still-unexplained death of Freddie Gray. |

On May 28, Judge Frederick J. Scullin Jr. denied the District of Columbia’s request for an administrative state in the ruling against the “good reason” provision in DC’s concealed carry permitting process.
The “good reason” requirement forced residents applying for a concealed carry permit to demonstrate a justification for wanting to carry a gun. Breitbart News previously reported that Judge Scullin ruled against the requirement on May 18, saying it “impinges on Plaintiffs’ Second Amendment right to bear arms.” |

In the dark days following the British Expeditionary Force's evacuation from Dunkirk in 1940—75 years ago this week from May 27 to June 4—Great Britain was a nation virtually disarmed. And not just by the need to abandon equipment on France's beaches to save British "Tommies" to fight another day, but by the policies of its own government. |

Both the Obama administration and the District of Columbia went to court today to defend themselves from lawsuits over policies that arguably overreach their authority — and neither came out unscathed. The district tried to get a stay on a recent ruling that overturned a gun-license prerequisite that made the district the sole arbiter of a “good reason” for a resident to exercise the right to bear arms, and … it didn’t go well, says the Free Beacon’s Stephen Gutowski: |

Last week Armatix, the German technology firm behind the controversial iP1 pistol, indicated that it has entered Chapter 11-style restructuring proceedings. The announcement came on the heels of another blow to the company—its head of technical operations and veteran firearms designer Ernst Mauch quit in late April. According to Fortune, Muach lent credibility to to Armatix as an arms manufacturer due to his 30 years of experience with Heckler & Koch.
“I am a man making no compromises. I want to walk through my life with a straight and honest backbone,” Mauch told The Washington Post, giving no reasons for his abrupt departure. |

Anderson County sheriff's deputies say no charges will be filed against a Piedmont man who shot and killed his nephew earlier this week.
Lt. Sheila Cole told local media that investigators think the man was acting in self-defense when he shot and killed 40-year-old Timothy Lee Owens.
Investigators say the two men argued Monday. Sheriff John Skipper said the man called 911 and told the dispatcher that he had shot his nephew and thought he was dead. |

On Tuesday the Women’s Defense League of New Hampshire held a press conference to discuss the results of a poll they conducted. The poll proves that a majority of Granite Staters are against allowing the state-sanctioned discrimination of the current pistol license law to continue. The poll also showed that a whopping 89% of voters are against people like billionaire Michael Bloomberg dictating our gun laws by spending millions to change them or fight against actual residents. |

Legislation to let people carry a concealed weapon without a permit has died for the year in South Carolina.
A Senate subcommittee took no action on two bills Thursday, deciding it would be better to hold more hearings on them after the Legislature adjourns next week.
One bill would eliminate the requirement for a permit to carry a concealed weapon in the state. The second bill would require South Carolina to accept weapons permits from Georgia, which has no training requirement. |
