Washington state has added more than 25,000 new concealed pistol licenses during the first four months of this year, according to new data this morning from the state Department of Licensing (DOL), and a story in yesterday’s Kitsap Sun, said a growing number of those armed citizens are women. The DOL advised Examiner this morning that there are now 534,978 active CPL’s in the state, although the Kitsap story put the number even higher, at 535,596. Either way, it amounts to a significant number of new armed citizens in a state traditionally thought of as “blue” politically, primarily because of the voting trends of those people in Seattle and along the I-5 corridor from Vancouver on the south to Bellingham on the north. |

Any Schumer, the anti-Second Amendment activist and "comedienne," used her show "Inside Amy Schumer" on Comedy Central as a platform to further disseminate gun control lies and propaganda. On the "comedy" show, Schumer performed a sketch titled "Welcome to the Gun Show" in which she make-believed she was an infomercial host selling guns on TV. One of the items for sale was a gun that costs $39.95. |

The Fourteenth Amendment guarantees that no state shall “deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.” Among lawyers, the buzzword we looking for in an equal protection case is “strict scrutiny,” because chances are that once the court has said that standard applies, the government will lose. Nevertheless, there are plenty of cases—including last term’s Obergefell decision on gay marriage—in which a government action has transgressed even less rigorous levels of scrutiny. |

The gun lobby’s refrain is almost mantra-like whenever anyone dares suggest a smarter approach to selling weapons that can kill indiscriminately, whether the person pulling the trigger is a responsible adult or a 2-year-old toddler. The gun lobby insists that we Americans are under constant threat of attack, and guns are the only thing that can keep us safe. Here in the real world, the vast majority of us manage to walk the streets, shop, and make it to our front doorsteps without requiring protection against vast hordes of killers. Rare are the times when armed would-be killers actually enter American homes. Rarer still are such intruders killed or sent fleeing because the home occupant is packing heat. |

Unfortunately, Senator Bernie Sanders has significantly shifted his stance on the issue to favor more gun control in order to compete. |

A bill allowing staff and faculty at Tennessee's public colleges and universities to be armed on campus became law Monday without the Republican governor's signature. Gov. Bill Haslam said in a statement that he disagreed with the bill for not allowing institutions "to make their own decisions regarding security issues on campus." But the governor acknowledged that the final version of the measure had addressed concerns raised by college administrators during the legislative process by including provisions protecting schools from liability and a requirement to notify law enforcement about who is armed on campus. |

Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg assailed safe-space culture during his address to the University of Michigan's graduating class on Saturday. "The fact that some university boards and administrations now bow to pressure and shield students from these ideas through “safe spaces,” “code words” and “trigger warnings” is, in my view, a terrible mistake," said Bloomberg. "The whole purpose of college is to learn how to deal with difficult situations -- not run away from them. A microaggression is exactly that: micro. And one of the most dangerous places on a college campus is a safe space, because it creates the false impression that we can insulate ourselves from those who hold different views. |

Q: Can you identify the revolver in the enclosed photos? I believe it is made on the Smith & Wesson “N” frame. It must be pre-1958 since it does not have a model number. The barrel is 2¼" long. I believe that the nickel plating is factory-applied. Any information you can provide is greatly appreciated. |
