With all the constant unrest throughout America and the ongoing movement to defund and prosecute police who do their jobs, it's no surprise that Americans purchased over 15 million firearms last year.
The reason seems to be clear: people across the country are realizing that they need to start becoming responsible for their own safety. A Rasmussen poll showed that some 67% of Americans thought self-defense was driving gun sales. |

A Kansas judge and 21 state attorneys general have filed a federal lawsuit challenging the Biden administration’s “Final Rule” that changes the definition of “engaged in the business” as a firearms dealer.
The rule is scheduled to take effect this month.
The lawsuit was filed May 1 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas, Delta Division. Phillip Journey, acting as a private citizen and not in any official capacity, told Ammoland News via telephone he is the lead individual plaintiff in the case. |

The Governor’s action on a final suite of gun-control bills has left gun owners in the Pine Tree State with a mixed bag.
Maine Governor Janet Mills (D.) elected to allow LD 2238, which requires a 72-hour waiting period for all gun sales, to become law without her signature on Monday. However, Mills vetoed a separate measure aimed at banning bump stocks. That bill would have amended the state’s ban on machine guns to include any semi-automatic firearm that has been modified “to materially increase its rate of fire.” |

A group of thieves were caught on camera using a forklift to break through the doors of a North Carolina gun shop.
It happened Wednesday in Youngsville, just north of Raleigh.
The owner said he hopes the surveillance video leads police to the suspects.
Customers were firing away inside the Youngsville Gun Club and Range after the breach, but cleanup efforts continued outside.
The work comes after police said three suspects rolled into the parking lot in a forklift around 1:17 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Dozens of guns have been brought to passenger security lines at RDU so far this year.
TSA officials have found 33 guns being brought through security since January 1 and they believe the airport will break its previous record of finding 100 guns in 2021.
TSA officials are reminding all travelers that you can travel with a gun, but it has to first be properly packed in a hard-shell locked case, separate from ammunition, checked with baggage at the airport, and declared as a firearm. |

On Wednesday, more than half the state attorneys general in the country filed a series of three different lawsuits against the Biden Administration's new rules on private individuals making private gun sales.
The controversial rule, which was debuted on April 11, is the most sweeping change to mandatory federal background checks on gun transfers in generations. Attorneys general in more than two dozen states have fired back on the pending rule by hauling the administration to court. |

Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador joined Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach in filing a lawsuit on behalf of 21 states opposing an ATF rule that would prevent law-abiding Americans from privately selling firearms.
The rule seeks to require a federal firearms dealer license for every individual who sells a firearm for anything the ATF sees as a profit, including currency, exchange of another firearm, or a service. It could make a felon of a gun hobbyist who sells a firearm to another family member, or a hunter who trades a firearm with a friend. |

Panola commissioners recently voted to declare their county as a Second Amendment sanctuary, joining Upshur, Smith and other East Texas counties.
The resolution, adopted unanimously Dec. 31 by commissioners, supports the county’s sheriff “in the exercise of his sound discretion, and affirms its resolve to support decisions by our sheriff to not enforce any unconstitutional firearms restrictions against any citizen.” |

Since Bruen did not throw out state licensing schemes, Gallagher saw no reason it would block registration requirements.
In a similar case, VanDerStok v. Garland, the Fifth Circuit struck down the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms’ ability to regulate ghost guns. While VanDerStok remains pending before the U.S. Supreme Court, the ATF’s rules remain in effect. Because serial numbers are currently required by federal law, Gallagher found the challenge to state law unripe. |

According to NBCDFW, the Justice Department’s new rules mandate background checks and licenses for private firearm transactions, extending regulations typically applied to gun store sales to include those conducted among acquaintances, family members, and gun shows.
Paxton deems these regulations as an unconstitutional overreach of federal authority, and is leading a multistate coalition, including Louisiana, Missouri, and Utah to sue the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (“ATF”) for “unlawfully attempting to abridge Americans’ constitutional right to privately buy and sell firearms.” |

Liberal MP Pam Damoff (Oakville North-Burlington, ON), who referred to semi-automatic guns as weapons of war, said it is time for her political career to end.
Damoff confirmed she would not be seeking re-election in the next election.
“While I know that I still have something to offer Canada, Ontario, and my community, the hyperpartisan nature of politics today is not the environment that I see myself serving in,” said Damoff in a Wednesday statement. |
