Jacksonville, Florida, Councilman Nick Howland (R) alleges the city has been gathering information and keeping a gun registry since July 2023.

Howland told Action News Jax the registry was allegedly compiled out of information gathered on people entering two city buildings while armed.

A confrontation at a Kansas City liquor store on Monday evening resulted in the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Donovan Booker. Another individual, 18-year-old Jeremiah Williamson, has been charged in connection with the incident.

Colorado’s latest gun-control measure (SB 25-003) is facing growing backlash because it infringes on constitutional rights and places undue burdens on law-abiding citizens. SB 25-003, signed into law by Gov. Jared Polis (D), will take effect on August 1, 2026. The law mandates that prospective buyers of semi-automatic rifles, shotguns or handguns that are equipped with detachable magazines must complete safety training courses, pass written and practical tests, and obtain sheriff-issued eligibility permits before making a purchase.

You’ve certainly had the chance to read my comments about the .50-70 before because I often mention it as one of my favorite cartridges.

No, I haven’t done it all with a .50-70 but I have done quite a bit with this old soldier. And lately something new has been tried, with very good results.

All eyes are on Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee (R) after lawmakers in his state passed legislation to further shield gun maker’s from frivolous lawsuits.

The legislation, HB 873, passed in both the Tennessee House and Senate as of April 21, 2025, will take effect July 1, 2025, if signed by Gov. Lee.
