One of the major benefits to the American public to come from the Modular Handgun System was the requirement for enhanced ergonomics. The pistol comes with three different backstraps to fit a wide variety of hand sizes, and the pistol is fully ambidextrous. Going forward, these features will likely become standard on handguns sold in the United States. |

They were there to voice opposition to the publicly owned fairgrounds in Ventura being the site of gun shows. Among them was Port Hueneme resident Roni Miranda, a onetime gun owner and National Rifle Association member whose views shifted after her family was threatened by gun violence.

Ruger’s single-action revolvers are some of the most legendary guns available, and the company's .22 LR Single Six has been a proven performer in the market of rimfire revolvers. For years, buying a Single Six was the preferred method of introducing young or first-time enthusiasts to the shooting sport, but prices on that that terrific little gun crept up in recent years, make them less affordable for those looking for an easy entry into the world of rimfire shooting. |

Barrel lengths, weights and brand names are open to discussion, which really means there is no “right” answer. My preference is cut-rifled stainless steel. It would take too much space to try to say why that is, and anyhow, it’s a preference that’s more academic than practical. What needs some space here though, is information on getting a good barrel. What a “good” barrel is to some may not be to all, but here’s one definition nobody can much argue with¯a good barrel is one of good quality. Dealing with steel, that pretty much comes down to material selection, treatment and machining.

Made by P.O. Ackley in the early 1950s, the .17 Hornet is a .17 caliber centerfire rifle cartridge originally known as the “wildcat cartridge” (born from being a non-factory round). Ackley necked down the .22 Hornet and fire-formed the resized cases, which resulted in a small, quiet cartridge with high-velocity capabilities – an ideal round for varmint hunting. |

Police say a 32-year-old Nebraska man is recovering after dropping his gun on a sidewalk, causing it to fire and shoot him in the genitals.
The Lincoln Journal Star reports that police believe the man was walking Wednesday night in north Lincoln when a .22-caliber gun dropped out of his pocket, hit the ground and fired.
Police say the man gave conflicting accounts of how the shooting occurred and was cited on suspicion of discharging a firearm in the city and possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person.
Submitter's note: He should have invested in a quality holster. It would have been a lot cheaper and less painful. |

People like New York Governor, Andrew Cuomo and Representative Eric Swalwell (D-CA), know full well the power of rhetoric. And, as they are well versed in it, they know how to use it. They know the power of persuasion. They know how to woo some members of the public—those susceptible to their vitriolic, superficial, and specious polemics. They have mastered well the art of rhetoric and they know well the power of fallacious argumentation. |
