April 2024 marked the fifty-seventh consecutive month of more than one million National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) checks for gun sales or transfers.

On April 2, 2024, Breitbart News reported that March ended with more than 1.4 million NICS checks for gun sales, which stretched the streak of more than one million background checks a month to 56 months.

A couple weeks ago, reviews for a new wearable AI device started hitting the market. While the device reviews aren’t great, they do give us a hint at the future of wearable technology. If used right in the future, the technology could be used to make people, armed or unarmed, a lot safer from criminal attackers.

In a recent turn of events in Harrison, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the scene of a shooting on the 6000 block of Vulcan Lane around 7 p.m. last Thursday. Upon arrival, they discovered Gregory Burnett, who sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the knee.

The first Guns to Gardens event in Charleston Saturday was a success, according to co-organizer Dina Mohler. "I think it went well for a first event," said Mohler Saturday evening. "It ran smoothly. People didn't have to wait. the volunteers were great. I think it can grow."
