Hillary Rodham Clinton, speaking to an audience in Los Angeles over the weekend, asserted that the 2016 election was “stolen” from her, while husband and former President Bill Clinton sat with her on the stage and supporters applauded.
Claiming also that she has been talking to other potential candidates who seek her counsel, Clinton remarked, “I think it’s also critical to understand that, as I’ve been telling candidates who have come to see me, you can run the best campaign, you can even become the nominee, and you can have the election stolen from you.” |

Democrat presidential hopeful Cory Booker (D-NJ) is pushing a TSA PreCheck-style interview for individuals who wish to buy a firearm. Booker described his proposal during a May 6 appearance on CNN. He was asked whether the individual tasked with conducting the interviews would be “the ultimate decider on whether an American can buy a gun?” The hosts also asked if Americans who failed the test “would get a second shot” at passing one so they could acquire a firearm? |

In Texas, a 38-year-old man seeking to buy an iPhone agreed to meet with a supposed seller. The purchaser answered an ad posted on a social media app and went to an agreed location in rural Galveston County. Using having to go to work early as an excuse, the would-be seller arranged the meeting time for 5 a.m. After the potential buyer arrived, he was handed an empty box by the seller, who then attempted to rob him. In response, the armed citizen used his firearm in self-defense and shot the apparent thief three times. The wounded man was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead upon arrival. |

It's a pivotal time for the sport of hunting, especially among America's youth. Due to urbanization, endless activities for children, and the constant humming draw of electronics, kids are getting less exposure to the outdoors and showing even less interest in hunting.
Sadly, hunting has become a dying sport – and yet you can do something about it.
By taking a child hunting, you keep the sport alive and help them become a hunter you can be proud of – someone who is as writer Tim Ferris describes: "responsible, piercingly intelligent, ethical hunters who eat what they kill and who understand the subtleties of nature, including preserving the ecosystems around us." |

It isn’t on the scale of revolutionaries burning a British tax ship, or even West Warwick’s secession from Warwick a century ago. But dissension is brewing in western Rhode Island over gun rights and the region’s resentment of Smith Hill urbanites. Following the lead of jurisdictions in eight other states, a handful of Rhode Island’s rural communities are considering declaring themselves Second Amendment sanctuary communities — places where the constitutional right to bear arms won’t be infringed no matter what state lawmakers pass this session.

David Hogg, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School mass shooting survivor-turned-gun control activist, tweeted on Friday that if you need an AR-15 to defend yourself, then you're a terrible shot. Hogg was responding to a tweet saying an AR-15 is similar to a handgun in that it only fires one bullet with each pull of the trigger. The future Harvard student had tweeted earlier how he does not want to take anyone's firearms because he had grown up cleaning and shooting guns.

What is the relationship of democracy to time? This question may seem abstract but is actually foundational. In a letter to James Madison, Thomas Jefferson posed the question of whether the dead should have the ability to rule from the grave. Jefferson’s answer to himself was a definitive no. “The earth belongs always to the living generation,” he wrote—to the present and not the past nor the future. “[T]he dead have neither powers nor rights over it.” |
