The Les Baer Custom Premier II Super-Tac 1911 in .45 ACP fooled me. I was surprised by the plain appearance of this Les Baer gun, but some time on the range proved there’s more to this pistol than meets the eye.

Missouri Republicans are again trying to enact a law prohibiting local police from enforcing federal gun laws. The Second Amendment Preservation Act was deemed unconstitutional by a federal court two years ago after first being enacted in 2021. A new version was introduced this year. It was debated in the Missouri Senate on Tuesday afternoon. Having been amended several times, it still needs approval from both chambers before it can be sent to the governor.

These are heady political times. Donald Trump returned to office on the strength of an unlikely political coalition that challenged long-held assumptions among the pundit class. Little of what we thought we know about seems very certain, and that’s led to some interesting news.
