The Vermont Legislature on Friday passed a bill that requires a 72-hour waiting period for the purchase of guns and includes other provisions aimed at reducing suicides and community violence. The Vermont House concurred with a Senate amendment by a vote of 106 to 34. But Republican Gov. A Colorado gun manufacturer announced Saturday that it has nearly sold out the second launch of its "smart gun." Biofire launched its smart gun complete with a "Guardian Biometric Engine" that unlocks upon fingerprint identification and 3D facial recognition on Apr 13 and only had 2% of preorders left less than a month later. The gun in its latest edition will officially be on the market in 2024. A "Founders Edition" of the firearm has already sold out and will ship late this year. |

When I am working with a class and about to begin a live-fire drill, I give the command, “Shooter, make ready.” The students have already been told that this means that the first thing we all will do is make sure that our eye and ear protection is in place. The Estonian Defense Forces announced that a combined submission by Sako and Steiner has won a toughly fought tender to become the Baltic country's new sniper rifle. The new 40 million euro seven-year contract, made public in late April, covers the delivery of the modular Sako TRG M10 sniper rifle in .338 Lapua with a Steiner M5Xi 5-25x56 precision scope using an MSR-2 reticle. Also included are thermal imaging attachments and suppressors for the rifles.
