It's a *tiny* article, but it's there: a positive outlook on women and guns in the "major media".
"...a growing grassroots organization called "Second Amendment Sisters", who see guns as a way to protect themselves and their families. Increasingly women, who are the targets of violent crime, are taking matters into their own hands. They're buying guns. They're taking shooting lessons. And they are quietly and responsibly.. packing heat." |

"Politically correct 'greening' is a cancer that can and will kill the essence of freedom and liberty. ... Ballistically speaking, 'lead is the best material to make bullets, which is why we've been using it for more than 200 years.' So why make this change? Here's my take. You connect the dots: ..." --Geoff Metcalf |

State Rep. Bill Johnson "said he feels the proposed legislation is not a measure of gun control and is a very simple way of preventing gun violence from taking place."
Nobody bothered to inform him that how he "feels" is irrelevant -- or that states such as Calfornia haven't seen laws prohibit school shootings.
"We’re hoping it’s quite simple," Johnson said.
"Hope" all you want, sir -- if it makes you "feel" better. But don't expect a criminal to look at your law as a deterrent. |

A 9-year-old Winfield boy was suspended from school for two days after he brought a toy gun to Pleasant Hill Elementary School. Parents of another boy called the school after overhearing their son say his friend was going to bring the toy gun to school. The toy gun was found among other toys the boy had in his back-pack, Riner said.
~~Quite possibly an illegal search too; no mention of a warrant. I guess the 4th Amendment doesn't mean anything if you're too young to vote... |

Minnesota supporters of a concealed carry decriminalization "were promised a vote on the Senate floor, possibly this week."
Gov. Jesse Ventura has said he support it.
"Several dozen uniformed police chiefs, sheriffs and rank-and-file officers from across the state gathered... to raise their objections."
The oath-breaker quoted in this story sounds like Sarah Brady with a badge -- surely embarrassing more than a few "rank and file" officers referred to above. Visit http://www.mnccrn.org |

"...a new survey of American inner-city youth indicates that deadly weapons are part of their everyday lives. And most of the youth surveyed said they would be willing to talk about guns with adults and doctors if asked."
"What surprised me was the extent of exposure to guns that kids have, which is frightening," said study co-author Dr. Michael N. Mulvihill of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (AECM) in New York City. |

"A seemingly mild-mannered Bronx school bus driver was charged with murder yesterday after he gunned down a local thug who was breaking into his car, police said."
The criminal had been arrested 47 times. He was shot at least 3 times -- with a .22.
According to this report, "few neighbors seemed to be crying over the death."
"He's a quiet, hardworking family man," said Jose Alvarado, 31. "We're going to be character witnesses for him at his trial." |
