Legislation making it a crime to store a gun where a child or someone barred from having one can get it narrowly cleared the Delaware House Tuesday. Under the bill sponsored by State Rep. Sean Lynn, a gun owner faces a Class B misdemeanor if a minor or unauthorized person gets an unsecured weapon. That would be bumped up to a Class A misdemeanor if the gun is used to kill or injure someone. |

Supporters of increased gun control claim they want “common sense gun laws.” Yet, the left’s goal is and always has been the abolition of legal gun ownership by civilians. The left knows that they cannot ban civilian firearms ownership directly. The U.S. Supreme Court put an end to that fantasy with the D.C. v. Heller decision in 2008. That ruling acknowledged that the Second Amendment was an individual right. It struck down the District of Columbia’s handgun ban. But that did not put an end to the left’s desire to abolish civilian gun ownership.

A young man, who police identify as a gang member, is dead. The person who shot him told police they stepped in when they saw D’Kobe Jordan threatening someone. Police have not released the shooter's name, only that he has a gun carry permit. They say Jordan was pointing a gun at another man in a parking lot. It happened around 6:30 Sunday night, so it was easy to see, that’s when the witness stepped in to help.

Anti-gun Democrat New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman quickly resigned Monday following the publication of an explosive story in the New Yorker focusing on allegations that he assaulted four women.
The resignation came just three weeks after Schneiderman issued a press release touting a gun “buyback” project in White Plains in which he asserted, “Gun violence is one of the biggest public health crises we face.” That effort brought in some 120 firearms. |

Stephen Willeford and Johnnie Langendorff look unassuming enough that it seems their heroics from last year haven’t changed them. Both were at the NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits, as they were two of three recipients that Anthony Imperato of Henry Repeating Arms recognized at the NRA Foundation Banquet. Imperato recounted the story of how Willeford responded to his daughter’s news about a deranged gunman who was shooting up people at the nearby Baptist church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, last November. |

A big move in the small city of Dallas, Oregon – it just passed a controversial resolution aimed at protecting gun rights. The move comes after several counties in Illinois voted to declare themselves “gun sanctuary counties.” The Dallas City Council president actually put out the resolution. He said it’s in direct response to an Oregon initiative that would put some major gun restrictions in place. |

The Brevard County School Board on Tuesday decided to postpone implementing Sheriff Wayne Ivey's controversial proposal to arm school staff and instead opted to hire full-time armed "security specialists." School board members and district officials are calling the new plan a "compromise," but many of the Brevard residents who attended Tuesday night's meeting in Viera argued the plan still puts more guns in schools in the hands of insufficiently trained people. The security specialists will go through the same 176 hours Ivey proposed for school employees and carry guns during school hours. |

It’s wheel guns only in competition at the International Revolver Championship for the competitors who still choose the simplicity and reliability of the classic revolver. It’s speed shooting for time and accuracy while reloading on the move with a six shooter or an eight shooter. QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
Some of the worst abuses of government force in recent years were precipitated by technical and victimless gun-law violations. For example, the BATF claimed that the Branch Davidians possessed machine guns without paying the required federal tax and filling in the proper registration forms. So a tax case worth less than $10,000 led to a 76-man helicopter, machine gun, and grenade assault on a home in which 2/3 of the occupants were women and children. — Dave Kopel and Dr. Michael S.
