Anti-gun-rights California Congressman and presidential wannabe Eric Swalwell’s gun control-based campaign is getting a boost from The Guardian one week after the tragedy in Virginia Beach as he argues for a ban on so-called “assault rifles” while the billionaire-backed gun prohibition lobby is promoting a “wear orange weekend.”

Gun control proponents a few years ago appropriated fluorescent orange—the color worn by hunters for several years to promote safety and reduce accidents in the field—as their way of pushing their gun control agenda.

In the early 1990s, a handful of calibers emerged to challenge the nine-millimeter as the dominant semi-automatic handgun round. One of these, the .357 Sig, is the caliber of choice for the Glock 31 pistol. The Glock 31 is the company’s offering for those into high velocity or long distance handgun shooting. The G31 also comes with a large magazine capacity, making it an excellent self-defense or duty sidearm.

Citizens United for Freedom and Firearms, known as CUFF, sponsored the event. The group marched peacefully from Harlow Park to Front Street, and then back to the park. Dunwoody resident Robert Wolford waved his handwritten “Impeach Trump” poster board in front of the high school auditorium as about 200 residents made their way through soaking rain for Saturday’s town hall meeting with U.S. Rep. Lucy McBath. “Lock him up,” an older woman said as she passed. Wolford smiled from behind dark, wraparound sunglasses. “We need a trial first,” he said.

Licenses to hunt moose were granted this week in Maine, and the list of recipients included a surprising number of women. Women have frequently been in the minority when it comes to big game hunting, but there was a noticeable change this year in Maine. Moose hunting licenses are picked from a lottery, and 2,820 will be awarded in 2019.

Handguns, shotguns, riffles, and ammunition are just some of the things up for grabs at the Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly, Va. this weekend. Organizers say the show attracts over 10,000 people from all over the DMV area. "There are no gun stores in the District of Columbia, there's only one FFL operating in D.C., so D.C residents have to come here, to a gun store out-of-state," said Mark Anderson.

Had one to guess, there’s going to be new legislation or an executive order banning suppressors, just like there was one banning bump stocks. Just as with banning bump stocks, it’s a sacrifice bunt and not a very good one at that. Part of the problem with gun politics in the United States is that extremists on both sides don’t want to compromise, and the people that want to meet in the middle do everything they can to miss the forest for the trees.

Many of these victims were innocent individuals caught in the spray of bullets related to gang organized, other criminal activity, or drive-by shootings according to police records. For example, "at about 7:15 p.m., an 18-year-old man suffered a graze wound to the head in the 2500 block of East 83rd Street in the South Chicago neighborhood," after sitting in a car, hearing gun shots, and realizing he had been hit big a stray bullet.

Oregon state officials relaxed rules Friday to make it easier to kill the state’s endangered gray wolves if they are found to have eaten livestock. Under the new rules, the commission can approve wolf kills if a pack is confirmed to have killed livestock twice in nine months. Commissioners with the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife voted six to one to approve an updated plan to manage the state’s 137 wolves after hours of contentious testimony sharply divided into two groups: ranchers and hunters on one side, who were mostly happy with the plan, and wolf advocates on the other, who rejected it.

As a businessman and personality, entrepreneur Mark Cuban is somewhat tolerable. Like many, however, he needs a "Shark Tank"–type schooling in American history and constitutional civics. Last month, Cuban, who's been teasing a 2020 run for president, offered yet another hackneyed Democrat proposal to rewrite the Second Amendment out of our Constitution and our history.

As anti-gun extremists in the United States push to restrict the Second Amendment freedom for law-abiding gun owners, Brazilians realize such measures do not work and are moving to arm themselves for protection. Following President Jair Bolsonaro’s legislation this year to ease restrictive firearm laws, Brazilians from many walks of life now will be allowed to have concealed carry handguns without having to prove to police why they need them. These include people such as politicians, journalists, truckers and hunters.
