"Two Chicago police officers--the first to be called to Ronyale White's home and the last to arrive--were accused Monday of violating department rules along with the supervising sergeant who allowed the slow response."
"We will never know whether a more timely response would have prevented this homicide," said First Deputy Police Supt. John Thomas.
"However, every Chicago police officer is duty-bound to respond to priority calls in a reasonable time frame. That takes place hundreds of times every day. It did not occur that night at Ronyale White's home."
Pressed to define a "reasonable response," Thomas said "five to seven minutes."
KABA NOTE: You may recall the Ronyale White incident. Synopsis: her estranged husband was under a "restraining order" -- a piece of paper that said he should stay away from her. He showed up at her home with a gun. She called 911 a few times, police finally showed up to find her dead. |

KABA NOTE: She should be suing the city for banning self-defense -- that policy made her daughter a sitting duck. |

"A pellet gun that closely resembles a 9mm Beretta handgun carried by police was taken off the shelves of a Wal-Mart store after officers stopped two teens carrying the weapons, police said."
"The Powerline pellet gun, which sold for $17.88, even has similar serial numbers on its side, said Easton Police Chief George Harvey."
"'It is getting too close to reality when you see something like this,' Harvey said, holding up the pellet gun next to his Beretta. 'They look exactly the same.'" |

"At a Senate Finance Committee hearing on small business and rural economic development, three of Committee Chairman Max Baucus’ constituents appealed last week to have taxes on alcohol, guns and farms cut to fit needs of small business."
"Another Montanan, Steven Dodd Hughes, a custom gunsmith from Livingston, said an 11 percent firearms manufacturing excise tax might “snuff ... out” his business.
“As a customer gunmaker, I take an existing rifle action and completely rebuild it into a uniquely artistic firearm for an individual, updating and upgrading it,” Hughes told the senators. “This tax was never meant to be applied to these hands working in a one-man shop.”" |

Numerous times Paw would tell us that the United Nations would be the downfall of the United States. When I got old enough to know anything about the United Nations, I remembered what he'd said, but didn't see the connection, as they seemed quite benign.
But as a preacher I know once said, "Information became revelation."

"The Bush administration's post-Sept. 11 assault on civil liberties reached a new low recently when the Justice Department argued in court that an American-born detainee, who may be a United States citizen, should not be allowed to talk to a lawyer. This is the same Justice Department that has refused to release the names and locations of the estimated 1,200 people detained after Sept. 11, and that has insisted on conducting detainees' legal hearings in secret. These policies are blatantly unconstitutional, and in recent rulings courts have begun saying just that."

If you have ever wondered why some politicians believe they can run over the Constitution, it's because of the ignorance of the masses, relative to their Rights! If the Poll is indicative of the public opinion at large, we are darn close to seeing a totalitarian government in our life time! Our job, each and every one of us, is to inform and convince anyone we can to understand that if we give up our inalienable rights, we deserve neither peace, or freedom!

"Kudos to Utah's judiciary for refusing to back down on its stand against the new law for gun lockers in Utah's courthouses. If I were a judge in this state I would not want guns, even secured guns, in my courthouse, either. For many people, going to court is usually not a pleasant experience. Giving them a loaded gun after their court appearance isn't a good idea."

The fatal shooting of a man wanted on federal weapons charges was ruled "legally justified" Monday by District Attorney Tim Harris.
Moore had a live grenade, and witnesses say when Smith shot, it appeared Moore would throw the grenade at officers, Harris said in his ruling. "Under such circumstances, Deputy Smith's reasonable belief that he needed to use deadly force was justified."
KABA NOTE: Are we to believe this fellow bought that hand grenade at a gun show? A better question might be: if a ban on hand grenades cannot stop nut cases like this idiot from getting ahold of them, what good is a ban at all? |
