We Must Stop Knee-Jerk Responses That Undermine the Second Amendment

To say that Donald Trump is a far better President than would Hillary Clinton have been is a truism too obvious to bear repetition. This particularly is the case with regard to the Second Amendment; not only in terms of broad policy direction, but with regard also to the regulatory actions and day-to-day decisions by bureaucrats. Were we living in the third year of a Hillary Clinton presidency, damage wrought by her and her minions already would have seriously undermined the ability of every law-abiding Second Amendment supporter to actually exercise the rights guaranteed thereunder.

The Fusion line of ammunition features a great cartridge known for its long-range terminal performance on game – and it uses the AccuBond bullet. Another great attribute of this ammo is that these are excellent rounds to hone your skill during long-range practice sessions. The jacketing allows them to be used on most ranges and public lands.

Gun-control failed again in Virginia Beach, and it failed big. A disgruntled city employee killed 11 of his coworkers. The news media and gun-prohibitionists call for more more gun-control while ignoring all the failing gun-control regulations that were in place.

These gun-prohibitions didn’t keep us safe in Virginia Beach. Why would new laws work any better?

Emerging from the ground-shaking news that SportCo Holdings, which owns Ellett Brothers and United Sporting Company (USC), had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy was the stunning acknowledgement that management had “banked on Hillary Clinton winning the election” in 2016, causing them to up their inventory of firearms and ammunition that “no one wanted,” according to The Outdoor Wire.

Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam ordered last week a special legislative session to address gun violence, four days after a public works employee killed 12 people in a shooting rampage at a municipal building in Virginia Beach. Northam said he would seek universal background checks, bans on assault weapons and suppressors, extreme risk protective orders, child access prevention and other restrictions. As the gun control debate continues in the United States, we rounded up information on Tennessee’s gun laws.

The Surprising Forces Behind Mass Murder in the US

After the recent shooting in Virginia Beach, Democrat politicians said US gun owners were causing mass murder. Biased journalists said the same thing, and both of them are fantastically wrong. The real mass murderers are the people who claim to be for “gun safety”. The results are shocking once you look at the data and once you uncover a few facts. Unfortunately, our biased media is spewing spin rather than truth.

You Are the Gun Lobby & You Need to Act Like It

With all of the hubbub over the mess at the NRA, now seems like a good time to remind everyone that YOU are the Gun Lobby. This is a theme I have come back to again and again in the 13+ years that I have been writing about Second Amendment issues and leading The Firearms Coalition, and even before that. In a speech on the Arizona Capitol grounds earlier this year, I said that the gun lobby “is not a bunch of overpaid suits in Washington D.C. … if the NRA disappeared tomorrow, the Gun Lobby would still be just as powerful, because it's not the NRA, it's NRA members and tens of millions of other dedicated patriots just like you.”

Derringers are a bit of a misnomer in today’s gun world. Sure, the two-shot over-and-under vest pocket or sleeve guns still exist, but they have been greatly improved upon. Their mission however remains roughly the same. Extreme close-quarters defense, backup to a primary weapon, or simply deep-pocket security is the primary role these guns perform now.

Colorado gun rights advocates who successfully recalled Democratic state lawmakers over gun legislation in 2013 may be running into difficulty this time as national gun control groups converge to defend a suburban Denver seat. Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund and Giffords, an organization started by former U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, are donating a combined $110,000 to stave off efforts to recall Colorado Rep. Tom Sullivan, D-Centennial, the groups are announcing Tuesday morning.

When the hunting season for black bears opens Oct. 1 in Oklahoma, the area available to hunters will have more than doubled in size, and the bag limit will remain the same.
The area will increase from four southeast counties to 13 counties, and parts of other counties, with Interstate 40 and U.S. 69 forming the boundaries. The archery season for black bears runs from Oct. 1-20. The muzzleloader season is Oct. 26-Nov. 3. Under the new rules, hunters will no longer be allowed to shoot bears wearing research collars.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
I have not one doubt, even if I am in agreement with the National Rifle Association, that that kind of record keeping procedure [gun registration] is the first step to eventual confiscation under one administration or another. —CHARLES MORGAN, DIRECTOR, WASHINGTON DC ACLU
