... "Missing from all the announcements is a schedule to allow the public to know where the bus is going and when it will be there. There are two conceivable reasons a tour the group obviously and desperately wants to generate publicity for would withhold that information."

"The first would be for security reasons ..."

"The second and more likely reason, considering the AstroTurf nature of Bloomberg ventures demonstrated time and again, would be to keep the grassroots from embarrassing his road show by mustering overwhelming support for gun rights and against citizen disarmament, and stealing the spotlight at what were to be carefully-controlled staged events." ...

"Maybe things are starting to look up for Connecticut. Pro-gun Republican Samuel Belsito won a special election to fill the Connecticut State Legislature’s 53rd House District seat vacated when Democrat Bryan Hurlburt resigned to take a job with the USDA. 'Every day I was out knocking on doors, I would get at least one person who was really ticked off about the gun bill,' Belsito recalled. 'There were an awful lot of people, including Democrats, who are really ticked off about the gun bill — and the budget.' Hopefully this is an early indicator of how other 'progressives' will fare in future elections. Meanwhile, elsewhere in Connecticut . . ." ...

"So today my local gun store tells me that they finally got a new XDs 9mm in stock. Good price too. I was tempted but did a little thinking before my usual impulsive, 'I’ll take it' reply. I actually took my time to consider the wisdom of buying a new gun. I must be maturing in my old age. I already have a nice 15 oz. Sig P938 that fits nicely in my pocket and holds 6 +1 of 9mm ammo. It shoots good and has excellent Sig night sights. Why would I want the XDs in 9mm? ..." ...

"Like many of you I have been following the ammo shortage; perhaps more in depth than most due to the nature of my business. I have also read the articles written by people who are in touch with the ammo manufacturers. There is no government conspiracy or plot. Just normal buying cycles. Like us, the government sometimes buys more or less than the year before. Nobody is manipulating the ammo supply to promote gun control. Instead it turns out that we have met the enemy and it is us. We caused the ammo shortage and the worse news is that the manufacturers are saying that we will not recover for at least a year or more and only if we stop our panic buying now. ..." ...

"While I don’t own America’s Most Popular Rifle™ (or the commie bloc’s, either) I do have tiny homunculus hands. Meaning that I sometimes have time getting a proper grip on the trigger, depending on the gun I’m taking up. The people at ACCU-GRIP (the grip that always fits!) must be members of the non-average length digit tribe, too, because they’ve just come out with replacement trips for both ARs and AKs that adjust depending on your particular index finger characteristics. Ask Foghorn: Is 300 Blackout a Good Caliber for a First AR-15?

"Matt writes:
I am looking to buy my first AR. The biggest dilemma that is facing me is the choice of caliber. Obviously, the main stream choice is the 5.56/.223 but I am really interested in the .300 Blackout because of the larger size of the round and the perceived greater stopping power. The AR I am drawn to the most is the Smith & Wesson M&P 15 Sport because of the price and I am a S&W fan. That rifle compared to an AR in .300 is a difference of around $1,000 from what I have been able to find. My question is, do you think that it is worth the extra money for the larger round or should I go with the cheaper option? ..."

"Speaking of which — do you think any of these gun-toting, Constitution-quoting patriots have any clue what the Third Amendment is ... or the Eighth or the 20th?" ...
-------

Submitter's Note: Third: Quartering troops without consent.
Eighth: Excessive bail, cruel and unusual punishment.
Twentieth: Hmmm, 17th was direct election of senators, eighteenth was Prohibition, 19th was women's suffrage, 20th was the housekeeping one on start dates of elected officials and some other stuff, 21st was repealing prohibition. Sorry, I have to work my way forward from 17 to keep those 5 straight.
Now riddle me this, Mike; where in the Second Amendment, rest of the Bill of Rights, Constitution, or Founding Fathers' papers and writings does it indicate that the "arms" protected by the Second Amendment are limited to muskets?
