A charge has been dismissed against a Michigan police officer whose personal gun accidentally fired into the floor of a high school gymnasium as he watched a wrestling tournament.
WHMI-FM reports the dismissal followed a plea agreement for Flint police Lt. Mark Boudreau, who entered a no-contest plea in August to a misdemeanor charge of reckless discharge of a weapon. Sentencing had been delayed in the case, with a dismissal allowed if Boudreau complied with all court orders.
Livingston County Prosecutor Bill Vailliencourt says Boudreau “satisfied the conditions of that agreement.”

Lawmakers in the People’s Republic of mismanaging public policy to an ominous threshold of defeatism colliding with the bizarre and leading directly to an open ended invitation to join the ranks of the United Nations as a bandit territory and antithesis to the spirit of the Constitution, are finally justifying their paychecks and benefits. Well, at least from the spooky and surreal backstage passages in portraying a divine comedy that rivals the perpetual journey of an inexplicable ideological starship puttering towards the unknown leaving an unremarkable trail of pork barrel essence and forever making a mockery of Einstein’s rule of insanity. |

Contrary to the rhetoric of many gun control advocates, the Second Amendment’s protection of the individual right to keep and bear arms is not a malevolent, outdated barricade to peace that must be demolished or diminished in the name of public safety. Rather, the Second Amendment is a fundamental part of the nation’s scheme of ordered liberty.

Kyle Kashuv, the conservative Parkland shooting survivor and pro-Second Amendment activist, says Harvard rescinded his admission after the recent resurfacing of years old remarks he called "offensive," "idiotic" and "inflammatory" but composed before the mass shooting -- which he says made him a different person. The 18-year-old revealed the rescindment on Twitter Monday -- along with screenshots of letters that appeared to be written on Harvard letterhead. He also detailed the steps he says he took to "right this wrong" with the Ivy League school, which he said he'd planned to attend in 2020 after taking a gap year.

Many people are honest about their opposition to the Second Amendment and the right to bear arms. They support repealing the amendment or reconstruing it so the right is enjoyed only by members of the militia, the National Guard. Others urge outlawing semi-automatic guns, "semi-automatic" sounding scary but actually defining nearly every modern gun, guns that reload themselves. That would leave only shotguns and antique single-shot rifles and pistols available for general use. The objective of these people is forthright: to disarm everyone but the government.

Roughly 18 people attended Democrat presidential hopeful Eric Swalwell’s (D-CA) speech Monday near the National Rifle Association (NRA) headquarters in Fairfax, Virginia.
On June 14, Breitbart News reported that Swalwell would be delivering a speech on his gun controls near the NRA headquarters.
A video published by Politico shows that Swalwell used the speech to push confiscatory laws for AR-15s and other commonly-owned semiautomatic rifles, as well as a repeal of the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA). That act protects gun manufacturers from suits in cases considered frivolous, such as when a legally manufactured and legally sold gun is stolen and used in a crime. |

Early education and awareness can help a child develop respect for firearms. Jon McCullen was just a young boy when his father took him out to shoot a sapling. “And he brought me over to it, and of course, he let me shoot this shot gun, and hit that sapling," McCullen said. "Of course it cut it in half and fell down. He said the bottom line is these firearms will do the exact same thing to you.”

The commission is a nine-member board, comprised of volunteers who serve four-year terms after nomination by licensed hunters and anglers, appointed by the governor, and confirmed by the Kentucky senate. |

A pair of gun control lobbying groups, Brady and the Seattle-based Alliance for Gun Responsibility, want to hear from you, or at least some of you who have received email questionnaires in recent days, one asking about legislative priorities and the other about arming teachers.
Brady is the latest incarnation of the organization originally named in honor of the late James Brady, who was permanently disabled in the attempted assassination of then-President Ronald Reagan by an individual who violated existing gun control laws at the time. |

Iconic throughout the world, the AK-47, is also subject to severe import restrictions, meaning it is unlikely that you will be handling a true Russian-made AK any time soon. With that unfortunate news, many American manufacturers are left with the option of assembling rifles from eastern bloc countries or starting from scratch. Palmetto State Armory chose the latter, and they have not failed to deliver a true American-Made AK. |

As state lawmakers prepare to reassemble in Richmond for a special session on gun control after the Virginia Beach shooting, this statistic will likely be repeated often: In Virginia, more than 1,000 people die due to gun violence every year. That equates to almost three people every day. Guns take more lives than car crashes. And nearly two-thirds of those gun-related deaths in Virginia are suicides.

In our region we are lucky that most hunting opportunities are simple — if you want to hunt, you just go buy a license or tag. In the western states there are lotteries, limited draws, preference points and bonus points for most big game species and seasons, making it confusing and time consuming.
