Headline: "Residents march against guns".
Fact: They marched to protest gang violence and crime levels.
Unintentional humor: "People living in the troubled areas... live in fear of guns and earlier this year, police started armed street patrols." -- So are people now living in fear of the police?
A link to Manchester's anti-gang task force shows that "eliminating guns" doesn't even make the top 10 on their priority list. |

"College Station soldier, airport in dispute - Man with wired jaw has cutters confiscated"
"A U.S. Army lieutenant from College Station whose jaw is wired shut from a bullet wound he suffered in Afghanistan said screeners at San Francisco International Airport denied him permission to pass through security with wire clippers used to snap open his jaw in an emergency."
"officials at Easterwood Airport ... tagged the cutters with a code that security personnel could look up to see that the cutters were not a prohibited item. ...the tag didn’t convince security screeners." |

"Many Internet correspondents set their e-mail program to automatically add a quote or slogan at the end of each e-mail to support their beliefs. These are called signatures or ".sig files" and in no other American subculture are they more popular or seen in greater variety than in the gun rights movement."
"Anyone who wishes to understand this segment of society would be well advised to scan these brief sub-messages..." -- Dr. Michael S. Brown |

"From now on, covert FBI agents can mingle with unsuspecting Americans at churches, mosques, synagogues, meetings of environmentalists, the ACLU, the Gun Owners of America, and Reverend Al Sharpton's presidential campaign headquarters. These eavesdroppers do not need any evidence, not even a previous complaint, that anything illegal is going on, or is being contemplated. You might keep a pocket edition of the Constitution handy to present to the FBI agents—like a cross in front of Dracula." -- Nat Hentoff |

"Tucson can require on-the-spot background checks for prospective gun purchasers at gun shows held at the city's convention center."
"Judge Stephen C. Villareal of Pima County Superior Court ruled last year that the requirement was preempted by state law," but "The Court of Appeals said it could find no clear evidence that the Legislature intended a pre-emption law passed in 2000 to cover situations like Tucson's requirement involving a city-owned facility." |

--In the totalitarian future, cigarette smoking is illegal and cyborg law enforcement officers will use force to stop it. While the relevance to liberty is obvious, it may not be immediately apparent what this has to do with guns. Be patient. And remember this the next time someone tells you “smart guns” are a good idea.

In 1984 Americans watched a movie by the title of "Red Dawn" and it chilled us to the bone. It starred Patrick Swayze, Charlie Sheen and Lea Thompson. Who can forget Lea shooting down Russian Special Forces with her AK-47 in front of McDonalds. That was chilling. I can assure you that even today, the mere thought... is enough to give any Russian Special Forces soldier nightmares.
This article shows all the more reason for American citizens to STAY ARMED. |

"This is another example of zero tolerance run amuck," said Steven Brown, executive director of the Rhode Island Affiliate of the American Civil Liberties Union. "It really is a shame to see school administrators responding in such a knee-jerk fashion."
"Brown said the 10-day suspension is more appropriate than time at the 'Training School', where some youths are sentenced for crimes such as murder." |

“On May 29th I appeared in the Denver county court of one Judge Celeste for my trial. But rather than have a fair and impartial trial a “charade” took place. I had been charged on December 15th, 2001 for violating a Denver city ordinance that prohibits a person from carrying a gun openly for the purposes of self-defense. ... the Colorado State Constitution clearly says that my “right” to carry a gun openly for the purpose of self-defense “Shall not come into question.” |

The 1st round of elections in Colombia produced a "winner" the White House was glad to see win. -- Why?
Strong indications of a major tie in to cocaine smuggling and a reputation of violence force me to denounce my elected leaders' enthusiastic acceptance of this man.
"for failing to alert the DEA that it would make shipments of 500 kilos of the cocaine precursor chemical - one percent of the 50,000 kilos destined for Moreno's company in Colombia - the Connecticut company had to pay $50,000 ... Moreno's company, by contrast, was not fined a single devalued Colombian peso by the United States government for those 50,000 unreported kilos of the cocaine precursor." |

"As reported in the press, the new FBI surveillance guidelines present no serious problems. Especially under post-September 11 circumstances, law enforcement monitoring of public places is simply good, pro-active police work that violates the rights of no one. The same is true for topical research not directly related to a specific crime." -- Roger Pilon, VP for legal affairs at the Cato Institute and a former U.S.DOJ official |
