Tuesday’s announced “tentative deal” to resolve a federal gun law violation involving Hunter Biden—son of anti-gun-rights President Joe Biden—is “an insult to the intelligence of the American people,” the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said in response. “Why should anybody respect any gun laws if the president’s son gets a pass,” CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb questioned. “The American public should be outraged at what amounts to a deplorable double standard.

A new Rasmussen poll released Monday shows Democrat President Joe Biden trailing former Republican President Donald Trump by six points, even after the former chief executive was indicted.
Amid all his other problems, Biden is decidedly anti-gun-rights, say critics in the gun rights community, while Trump has traditionally declared his support for the Second Amendment. |

Attorneys representing the Second Amendment Foundation and its partners in a lawsuit challenging the Illinois ban on so-called “assault weapons” have filed a response brief in the state’s appeal in the U.S. Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. U.S. District Judge Stephen P. McGlynn in the Southern District of Illinois granted a preliminary injunction against enforcement of that state’s ban on so-called “assault weapons” and “high-capacity magazines” in April. The case is known as Harrel v. Raoul. |

A federal court issued an order in favor of the state on Tuesday as the latest development in the legal battle over gun reform legislation. The order, a stay requested by the state last month, will make it so that enforcement of restrictions on where concealed weapons can be carried in New Jersey is not restricted.

Gov. Bill Lee did the right thing by proposing a barebones effort in an Aug. 21 special legislation to keep firearms from dangerous people. His desire for lawmakers to pass an extreme risk protection order, sometimes call a red flag law, has met heavy opposition from the gun lobby, including the Tennessee Firearms Association, and he's been abandoned by leaders in his own party in the super majority Republican-dominated Tennessee General Assembly.

A new legislation has been proposed against ghost guns, and named after a teen victim who was struck by gunfire from ghost guns. The bill, called the Anghelly Yambo Gun Free Zone Expansion Act, is named in honor of 16-year-old Anghelly Yambo, who was caught in the crossfire near her school in April 2022. |

Overwhelmingly, what we see, hear and read about guns in the media is negative. Purposely so, in my opinion. The good things — when and if reported — are almost always about taking down bad guys one way or another. I feel like I’ve done some good deeds by means of my firearms without ever confronting a bad guy. Let me explain. |

Smith & Wesson firearms have been known for their quality and innovation since the mid-1800s. No longer a revolver company, S&W M&P pistols are top-rate. It makes sense to combine the pistol lineup with a compact matching carbine that folds for discreet carry and convenience. The FPC meets this need by adding useful features that I have not seen on a standard pistol-caliber folder.
