Revolvers seem to be either a mystery to people or an obsession. Of course, there are some people that fall in between. However, most of the shooters I’ve spoken to about revolvers have either never shot one or swear by and collect them. Regardless of which category you fall into, I have a piece of advice. If you’re going to carry a gun or use one for home protection, it should be a revolver because they are 100-percent reliable.

When it comes to hunting across the North American continent, bolt-action rifles are the go-to option. However, some hunters wanted to use their semi-auto AR platform rifles to hunt whitetail, hogs, and other medium to large sized game animals. |

The use of smaller handguns, known as “pocket pistols,” has been popular for centuries. They were carried by all types, from kings to cowboys. Although, it should be noted that what was considered “pocket” is relative to the technology of the day as well as the clothing options at the time of invention. And one thing that has remained consistent throughout much of pocket pistol history is that the ability to conceal these firearms has often been perceived as a serious threat to nobility and government leaders because the guns are small and difficult to detect until it was too late. At the same time, pocket pistols have served as an excellent self-defense option. |

The Heritage Foundation continues to influence state and federal decision-makers with impactful policy research, and the past two weeks was no exception with one Heritage expert testifying twice before Congress on Second Amendment issues. Amy Swearer, a legal fellow in the Edwin Meese III Center for Legal and Judicial Studies, testified in front of the House Oversight Committee on June 8 to provide solutions to gun violence that do not infringe on the rights of law-abiding citizens. |

Dozens of House Republicans have reached out collectively to the White House to express concerns about a recent report that the Biden administration is considering a specific ammunition ban, which an official has already denied. The Biden administration informed Winchester Ammunition that “the government is considering restricting the manufacturing and commercial sale of legal ammunition produced at the Lake City, Mo., facility,” a spokesman from the National Shooting Sports Foundation told the Washington Examiner last week. A White House official, however, said the report was "way off."

The credit card industry has blocked a novel effort to track suspect firearm and ammunition purchases, depriving law enforcement of a potential tool to identify and stop gun crime. Documents obtained by CBS News show employees from domestic and international credit card companies, including Visa, Mastercard and American Express, pushed back on an application to create a merchant category code for firearm and ammunition sellers.

We have inherited a great freedom, and not by accident. We inherited it thanks to the diligence, hard work and sacrifice of generations of Americans who came before us—from so many who not only fought for it, but also died for it. And we are charged with continuing that great legacy handed down to us. |

Sometimes, I wonder whether President Joe Biden (D) actually wants to hire a director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Sure, Biden says he does, but his behavior suggests otherwise. Last year, Biden watched his first pick for the office, gun-control activist David Chipman, go down in flames. This year, he’s nominated another candidate in the same vein, former U.S. Attorney Steve Dettelbach. There is little reason to believe that Dettelbach will fare better than Chipman, so, I’ll ask again: Does President Biden actually want to fill this role? |

Eric Greitens, a former Navy SEAL, former Missouri governor, and current U.S. Senate candidate, put out an ad that tries to buff his MAGA credentials by riffing off his Navy SEAL background in a hunt for "RINOs." I put it in the category of ads that try way too hard and, therefore, fail. But for one Missouri Democrat, it was a perfect opportunity to give us a preview of coming attractions if Senate RINOs help Democrats strengthen existing red flag laws across America or fund new ones. |

I just came in from cutting the grass. Some guys look forward to this modern urban chore. I despise it myself. Out where we live, grass is more for erosion control than appearances. The grass is simply what separates us from the surrounding jungle. I cut it maybe four or five times per annum. The entire undertaking requires just south of two hours. Most of this time is spent behind an old push mower covering terrain that is uneven, rock-strewn or steep.
