Shooting has been eliminated from the Empire State Games, but competition will go on this summer.
Coaches and New York State Rifle and Pistol Association coordinators have organized a Shooting Festival in Binghamton on July 24-26 - the same dates as the Empire State Games in Buffalo - for all shooting categories withdrawn from ESG competition this year.
Tryouts are Saturday at Tonawanda Sportsmen's Club, 5657 Killian Road, Pendleton. Men's free pistol will take place at 8:30 a.m. and women's sport pistol at 1 p.m.

That’s what he would want, isn’t it? But even though the government will know who is registered because it will maintain the records, ordinary citizens will not be able to find out, or find out if the government is harassing people just because they are registered."
