An employee at a New Carlisle Papa John’s where one person died during an attempted robbery Sunday night described the shooting as self defense to a 911 dispatcher. "Someone just broke in and they were shot in self defense,” the man told Clark County Sheriff’s Office 911 dispatchers, according to records obtained by this newspaper. “They came right in with weapons and tried to rob us. They’re still in here. There’s one shot and wounded on the floor. One of them ran out.”

“Colorado governor signs bill allowing cities to set their own gun restrictions into law,” CBS News reported. “ It was one of three bills signed Saturday by Governor Jared Polis (the others being a background check “expansion” and the creation of a “gun violence prevention office”). This effectively ends “preemption” in the Centennial State, that is, protections that gun owners and their representatives have fought long and hard for to keep localities from denying supposedly unalienable rights within their jurisdictions.

The city and county of St. Louis filed a joint lawsuit against Missouri, seeking to block a new Second Amendment "sanctuary" law preventing local officials from enforcing federal gun control laws. The suit, filed on Monday in Cole County Circuit Court, argued that the Second Amendment Preservation Act signed by Republican Gov. Mike Parson on June 14 violates the Constitution's supremacy clause by trying to subvert federal law and will hinder law enforcement’s ability to deter crime.

We have just confirmed that Buckeye Firearms Association will sponsor an amicus brief in the upcoming Supreme Court Case, New York State Rifle & Pistol Association Inc. v. Corlett. It has been 13 years since the court ruled in D.C. v. Heller that the Second Amendment protects the individual right to have a handgun in the home for self-defense. The case of McDonald v. City of Chicago followed two years later, finding that this individual right is enforceable in the states.

A proposal to stop gun stores from setting up shop in the city of Newton is causing division among residents. The proposed site of a gun store on Washington Street in the city's Newtonville neighborhood is what ignited the local firestorm. On June 2, the Newton City Council voted to approve amendments made by the Zoning & Planning Committee to the city’s zoning ordinance in order to block the gun store from going into that location.

Smith & Wesson’s N-Frame double-action revolvers are some of the most respected handguns ever made. This is especially true for the exquisite pre-World War II ones. Almost all fans of S&W pre-war N-Frames dream of someday owning a “triplelock” .44 Special. Only about 15,000 of those were sold between 1908 and 1915. Later S&W offered Hand Ejector (HE) 2nd, 3rd and 4th Models of the N-Frame. All are greatly desired as .44 Specials. Some were also made as .38-40, .44-40 and .45 Colt but are so rare I’ve never actually seen one.

Imet my mentee the same way I met my hunting mentor: via Instagram. Shaq reached out to me at the start of last year’s deer season, with a proposal. He had all his gear and all his tags. He just wanted to know if I’d be willing to take him hunting. At first, I was honored. But then I struggled to decide. I’ve yet to kill my own deer. Now I’m supposed to help a new hunter kill their first? I did what I think anyone else would do. I passed him on to someone else.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
Our safety, our liberty depends on preserving the Constitution of the United States as our fathers made it inviolate. The people of the U.S. are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts - Not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow men who pervert the Constitution. — Abraham Lincoln
