U.S. Sen. Cory Booker of New Jersey—a man who would very much like to become President Cory Booker of the White House—has announced the most comprehensive gun control package to be forwarded by any presidential candidate in recent memory. The first parts of Booker’s plan will be familiar to anyone who has been following the trend: He wants to ban the AR-15, the most commonly owned rifle in the United States, which he calls an “assault weapon”; he wants to prohibit the sale of standard-issue, standard-capacity magazines, which he calls “high-capacity magazines”; and he wants to extend federal oversight to all firearm transfers, even those that take place between family members in the same state. |

Hundreds of eager gun enthusiasts flocked to River Ridge mall Saturday for the first gun show in Lynchburg in recent memory. The show filled the old Macy’s department store with thousands of firearms, including revolvers, AR-15-style rifles and even antique firearms that pre-date the American Revolutionary War.

CZ-USA improved and upgraded the CZ 457 family of rimfire rifles in 2019 with features that make them easier to use and accessorize than ever before, and the new CZ 457 Pro Varmint Suppressor-Ready packs a great number of “must-have” items in one compact package. The new 457 models all feature an American-style push-to-fire safety to aid in practice and training with the CZ 457. The new push-to-fire safety mimics the use of the safety on other American-style centerfire and rimfire rifles and reinforces the safety habits learn on other guns. |

Going down a point-by-point list comparing and contrasting reloading particulars for a bolt-action and for a semi-auto assumes everyone is already familiar with loading for bolt-guns. It’s best not to assume too much, but since most information “out there” is based on the process-norms for bolt-actions, I likewise have to make some comparisons and contrasts. However, there are major differences between reloads intended for semi-automatic rifles and those for bolt-action rifles. These differences manifest in both tooling and components. Bolt-guns are generally well more tolerant or flexible than gas-guns. I’m thinking of cartridge dimensions and fuel.

My recent trip to the White House and the D.C. Swamp turned out some unique opportunities to fight for gun owners. Among those opportunities was a chance I had to confront U.S. Senator Marco Rubio for his support of Red Flag Gun Seizure laws. Remember, it was Senator Rubio who last year introduced a Red Flag Gun Seizure law, and it was Senator Rubio who once again introduced another version this year with S.R. 7. |

It seems not a matter of if, but when. Next week, the state Senate is expected to vote on an amended Senate Bill 147, paving the way for Sunday hunting in Pennsylvania. The original version called for allowing hunting on 14 Sundays, 10 in fall and four in spring. Sen. Dan Laughlin, the Erie County Republican who authored the legislation, said he now will propose three days of Sunday hunting when it comes up for a vote on the Senate floor.

Just before dusk when the western sky cleared there was a spectacular sunset to end the longest day of the year. Friday was the first day of summer as well as the longest day of the year. It’s also the day before Mary’s birthday and she wanted to spend as much time outdoors as possible. We had debated starting off the morning with a fishing trip to the Cape Cod Canal, but it was raining hard at daybreak and we decided to catch up on some household chores until the weather cleared.

According to police, Irby admitted to entering her husband’s apartment without permission and taking the guns to the station over fears he “wasn’t going to turn them in” himself. |

In a hand-wringing press release published at Insider NJ, Union County Freeholder Chair Bette Jane Kowalski may have unintentionally provided a “Well, DUH” observation to gun control proponents across America’s political landscape that their crusade against gun rights is an abject failure.
While supporting more restrictions on gun ownership, Kowalski stated, “We already have some of the strongest gun laws in the country. However, more action is required to stop the 2,000-plus shootings that occur each year in New Jersey.” |

Rimfire-primed ammunition is an inexpensive option, and its association with smaller calibers has made it popular among target shooters and weekend sportsmen who enjoy shooting in their backyards. It's also the number-one choice among varmint hunters looking to reduce the gopher population disrupting their crops and pastures. |

A federal district court judge in San Diego has issued a preliminary injunction against the Del Mar Fair Board’s attempt to ban gun shows at the San Diego County Fairgrounds in Del Mar, in a case involving the Second Amendment Foundation, California Rifle and Pistol Association, several other groups and individuals.
Federal District Judge Cathy Bencivengo, a 2012 Barack Obama appointee, issued the preliminary injunction, prohibiting the Del Mar Fair Board from enforcing a recently-enacted moratorium on gun shows at the fairgrounds. Plaintiffs in the case consider this a huge victory over a moratorium that took effect back on Jan. 1 and the lawsuit was followed later that month. |

Not all “home invasions” are created equal. While some home invasions are indeed robberies and/or burglaries, some are not as malevolent. Specifically, some home invasions are when a drunk finds their way in, mistakenly believing it’s their house if they live nearby or a friend’s house or just being completely out of their mind. |

The 2020 presidential contest is now underway in earnest. On Tuesday, President Trump officially kicked off his reelection campaign to a packed house at the 20,000 seat Amway Center in Orlando, FL. Earlier that day, one of the two dozen or so contenders for the Democratic presidential nomination tried to have a rally of his own to draw attention to his signature issue of gun control. The difference between the two events speaks volumes about the role the Second Amendment plays in American politics. |
