For a city longing to be in the national spotlight for days on end, the past few weeks in Seattle is not likely what the left-leaning city government and mayor had in mind, but many believe was as predictable as November rain in this Northwest liberal enclave.

Embattled Mayor Jenny Durkan said Monday the “Capitol Hill Occupied Protest” zone—known by the acronym “CHOP”—will be taken back and police will be moving back into the abandoned East Precinct building “soon,” as reported by KING, without saying exactly when, leaving critics skeptical.

Wherein a number of governors across the United States have been successfully sued recently by various parties for overstepping their gubernatorial and Constitutional powers during the coronavirus crisis, totalitarian NYS Governor Andrew Cuomo has found a simple solution to that annoying problem – merely don’t allow yourself to be served. On June 11, 2020, 2ANYS, a New York-based Second Amendment advocacy group, attempted to serve Governor Andrew Cuomo and New York State Police Superintendent Keith Corlett with notification that they are subjects of a federal lawsuit. NYS Capital Building security personnel refused to accept lawsuit papers on Cuomo’s behalf, or attempt to contact members of his staff who could properly accept the documents.

If you want a pistol that can take down a mountain lion but is also easier to carry than a .357 hand cannon for self-defense, the 10mm is the perfect option. Now, this handgun will likely never be an everyday carry gun in an urban setting (it’s not exactly a dainty pistol). But when you’re headed into the backcountry (or live there), the 10mm is ideal for a variety of hunting pursuits and to defend yourself from both animal and human predators.

Now, the company expanded its offerings with the introduction of the Performance Center M&P 9 Shield EZ, which includes a range of special upgrades alongside the same easy-to-use features found in the original (read our original M&P 9 Shield EZ review here).

I recently received an invitation from my local public school district to attend a “safety forum.” It wasn’t going to cover the variety of health-and-safety issues relevant to kids today—opioid abuse, underage drinking, reckless driving, online bullying, physical violence and sexual assault or harassment. Instead, the entire safety forum would focus on one issue: guns.

Next Wednesday, sections of House Bill 1284 (2019) will go into effect. A five-year License to Carry a Handgun will now be free to obtain. In addition, applicants will have the option to register to vote while applying. Removing barriers for lawful carry in Indiana, including taxes and fees, is significant for many Hoosier gun owners that desire to carry for the defense of themselves and others.

Despite enacting a sweeping firearms ban last year, officials in New Zealand have successfully pushed a new set of regulations designed to inform gun owners of their precarious “privilege.” The latest Arms Legislation Bill passed through the New Zealand Parliament last week despite a modicum of resistance from members who thought it went too far and only scapegoats law-abiding gun owners in the country. With that, the measure is expected to achieve Royal Assent this week with some restrictions taking place immediately.

The Mount Pleasant ISD board has approved a plan to allow some employees to wear concealed handguns. A spokeswoman for the school said the board approved using the Guardian Plan, which is a state-approved plan which solely provides hand-picked armed employees the ability to defend themselves in the event of an active shooter. Some schools opt for the Marshal Plan, which gives employees armed law enforcement capabilities.

The Supreme Court of the United States disappointed gun rights advocated last week when they turned down 10 Second Amendment-related cases. The last time the Court heard a gun-related case was in 2010 with the landmark McDonald v. Chicago decision. Although the decision felt like a blow, Second Amendment Foundation founder and Executive Vice President, Alan Gottlieb, said there is still hope.

“The Second Amendment Foundation still has one case pending Cert before the Supreme Court. I think there is a very good chance that they will hear this one," Gottlieb told Townhall.

The XPB series is a line of ammo created and distributed by Barnes Bullets (well known among reloaders), an ammunition manufacturer based in Utah. These bullets are only used in large caliber handgun ammo, from the .357 up to .500 S&W and everything in between. The Barnes XPB features various nose shapes, but one thing is standard across every bullet type – the hollow point. This allows for maximum expansion on impact and phenomenal stopping power, no matter what you’re shooting. This particular style of ammunition is great for home defense, and is also fairly popular among handgun hunters who go after game like hogs and other handgun-friendly targets.

I seem to be on a bit of a 44 magnum kick lately, so I might as well talk about the Ruger Redhawk, that double action revolver which was introduced in 1979. By then, Sturm, Ruger, and Co. had been making double action centerfire revolvers for several years and had found success with its line of medium-frame guns based on the Security Six. The Redhawk, which was necessarily larger to handle the 44 Remington Magnum cartridge, was not just a scaled-up version of the Security Six; one reason being that Bill Ruger was a tinkerer who often changed his designs, even on the same model. And of course, he needed the new revolver to be very strong.

What compels a Service Rifle shooter like me to build and shoot a Palma gun? My current focus is to complete earning my Distinguished Rifleman badge, a goal that has eluded me for many years as career and family have taken priorities in my time. The price of it has been living at a performance plateau. I’m one of those shooters with moments of marksmanship brilliance juxtaposed with lingering inconsistencies. I finally started going to Camp Perry in 2016 and that exposure to some of the finest rifle shooters on this planet has begun to have a training effect. I’m cleaning rapid strings more regularly. My offhand technique is improving. And, I have moments of having everything come together at 600.

California’s state Senate has approved a measure prompted by last year’s fatal shooting at a San Diego-area synagogue. Investigators say the suspect, John T. Earnest, then 19, used a hunting license to buy the weapon he is accused of using in April 2019 at Chabad of Poway. A bill authored by state Senator Anthony J. Portantino (D–Pasadena) SB 914 to address the gun purchase loophole related to the tragic synagogue shooting in Poway passed the State Senate yesterday along party lines. SB 914 requires the Department of Justice verify the validity of the hunting license of persons under 21 who are eligible to purchase a firearm during the 10-day waiting period. Additionally, the bill defines what constitutes a valid and unexpired hunting license. The bill also updates several outdated code sections pertaining to fees associated with firearm purchaser information and includes code section cross references.
