The 45 Automatic Colt Pistol (ACP) and 44 Magnum are two powerful handgun rounds that are rarely compared. Although the bullet that each cartridge fires is separated by only a few hundredths of an inch, the terminal ballistics of the 45 ACP and 44 Mag are considerably different from one another. |

I have a confession to make. I will often get on social media and post something like, “You can’t miss fast enough to win." or "Having lots of ammo is important only if you plan to miss a lot.” Then I merely sit back and take sadistic pleasure in the furor that I have caused. I get responses like, ”A man ought to carry as much ammo as he needs,” that is suitably vague. Or someone will reply, ”I’ve never known a gunfight survivor to say they had too much ammo,” also suitably vague and coming from someone probably doesn’t really know a single gunfight survivor. So, let’s talk about the ammo question. |

The South Carolina 2023 legislative session has informally adjourned without a sine-die resolution and has no plans to return this calendar year. Despite the adjournment, both NRA-backed Constitutional Carry bills, S. 109 and H. 3594, are still alive and will be pending on the Senate floor when the legislature returns in January 2024. |

To much of the world, the United States is a country defined, at least in part, by its gun culture. And with good reason. The U.S., along with Guatemala and Mexico, is one of only three countries in which gun ownership is a constitutional right. Even more telling, according to a 2020 study by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the U.S. is home to an estimated 433.9 million civilian-owned firearms, equal to about 1.3 guns for every American. No other country comes close to having that many guns, let alone more guns than people. |

ATF has shut down long-standing San Carlos gun store Imbert & Smithers, and now the City Council may take over the gun store’s lease. Many San Carlos residents have been outspoken in their opposition to gun stores, so anybody who wanted to replace Imbert & Smithers would have faced an uphill battle. |

I recently did two things that I always swore I would never do: spend beaucoup bucks on a bespoke, custom-made firearm and purchase an M1911. Regarding the former, it’s just because I’m an inveterate frugal person who owns exactly one pair of jeans at any given time, cuts his own hair, eats a PB&J for lunch most days, gets a good six months out of a razor and who wears the same pair of $20 shoes until they disintegrate beyond the point of repair. |

1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, we have a problem. The President is on the loose again, uttering nonsense about the Second Amendment. President Joe Biden spoke to a collection of political donors as he’s gearing up his 2024 re-election campaign and used his gun control grindstone to churn out well-worn and discredited Second Amendment tropes. The problem is – it’s all malarky. No kidding, man.

As policies from the Biden administration have opened the southern border of the United States of America to more illegal immigration, much of the national debate about immigration has necessarily focused on border security. But that important issue is for other publications and news services to report on and investigate. Here, if we can, I’d like to put that aside to focus on a big question related to our Second Amendment freedom that is being overlooked. |

Delaware Republicans are pushing for a constitutional amendment that would deny bail for criminal suspects who use firearms while committing a felony. The proposal, which is expected to be introduced in next year's legislative session, calls for amending the state's Constitution to deny bail to suspects charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. |
