President Joe Biden’s anti-Second Amendment sentiments have gotten him in trouble…again…following remarks last week at a California fundraising event during which he once again trotted out his contention that gun rights advocates would “need an F-16” to “work against the government,” according to Fox News. |

Excessive force is a common reason for which citizens find themselves in significant legal trouble after a self-defense incident. It proves an easy trap to fall into, and good training and a robust knowledge of self-defense law goes a long way towards mitigating the likelihood of an excessive force charge.

Make no mistake, the mounting evidence of bribery surrounding President Joe Biden and his family can only be buried one way: an admission of his major cognitive decline, necessitating his dropping out of the 2024 race. The only factors keeping him in the White House are the need to keep up the charade (else Biden prematurely become a lame duck), the fear of Vice President Kamala Harris’ utter lack of qualification or disposition for the job of president, and the desire of Biden’s staff to extract every last drop of grift — like ticks burrowed into presidential power. |

It’s not often that NRA finds itself in agreement with CNN’s reporting about firearms, but the outlet’s fact-check of Joe Biden’s Connecticut gun control speech last week proved the cable news channel is capable of accurately reporting on guns … when it wants to. The piece noted that Biden “made at least five false claims related to guns, a subject on which he has repeatedly been inaccurate during his presidency.” While we might quibble that CNN actually undercounted the number of false claims related to guns Biden made in that address, their reporting was right on the money in the examples they did cite. |

We may earn revenue from the products available on this page and participate in affiliate programs. FOR A WEEK we had been hunting chukars above the Snake River in eastern Washington, my son Chris and I, laboring along those god-awful lava slopes each day and getting back to camp late, bone-tired and rock-sore. We were set up just across the river from Lewiston, Idaho, where Jack O’Connor lived. I’d meant to call him and let him know we were around. |

In response to a series of mass shootings that have taken place around the country, Healdsburg City Council has unanimously approved a gun safety ordinance that requires resident gun owners to safely secure their weapons in their homes. The measure, which was passed in a 4-0 vote June 20, makes Healdsburg the second city in Sonoma County, behind Petaluma, to approve such a plan. Vice Mayor David Hagele was absent during the vote. |

Ruger continues to play the hits with its resurrected Marlin Firearms brand, announcing this week that the famed Model 1894 is back in production. Marlin first introduced the now classic revolver-caliber lever gun back in 1894, hence the name, originally chambered in then-contemporary cartridges such as .25-20, .32-20, .38-40, and .44-40. With a straight grip, rectangular lever, 24-inch octagonal barrel, and a healthy 10-shot tubular magazine, the "solid top" Model 1894 was popular enough to remain in production well into the 1930s. |

I am not new to Christensen Arms rifles, and I’ve been lucky enough to get experience with several of them over the last couple years. But today we are looking at a new-to-me rifle: the Christensen Arms MPR. The Modern Precision Rifle (MPR) is Christensen’s version of a lightweight sharp-shooting rifle. Whether it’s used for competition shooting or as a sniper rifle, the MPR brings some very modern touches to the precision rifle market. But are those features worthy of praise? |
