The full metal jacket flat nose (or FMJ-FN) is just as the name implies – a full metal jacketed bullet with a flat nose. This type of ammunition is popular among pistol shooters and is often sold on-site at shooting ranges, both indoor and outdoor. One of the main reasons the nose is flat is so you can more accurately gauge where the round lands on your targets. The diameter is much more pronounced when a target is hit, and some competitions prefer these over normal-style FMJ bullets. |

In January 2023, the attorney general, Merrick Garland, signed ATF final rule 2021R-08F (the Rule), which calls for the registration of pistol braces in furtherance of the National Firearms Act of 1934 and the Gun Control Act of 1968. The Rule is wholly unconstitutional and fraudulently established. In this post, I will break down both the unconstitutionality of the Rule and the fraudulent basis upon which it has been established.

For me, it all started with my maternal grandfather, known to all in my family as “G-Dad.” More than anyone else, he introduced me to the world of shooting. G-Dad had come up from some pretty mean streets in Birmingham, Ala. He used to describe carrying a slingshot (a real sling, what they called a “David sling,” not one of those Dennis the Menace rubber-band models), a knife and later a pistol that fired .22 shorts, all carried in order to navigate neighborhoods controlled by rival groups of teens. |

People who gathered to see Donald Trump speak at a Lincoln Day dinner at a conference center in Novi, Michigan, on Sunday, were not allowed to bring their firearms. The event, hosted by Oakland County Republican Party, listed guns and "weapons of any kind" among items prohibited from the sold-out event, despite the local party espousing the belief that keeping and bearing arms was "a natural inalienable right." |

Never underestimate the ability of certain Members of Congress to waste taxpayer dollars and time on proposed legislation that is either already being done or will do nothing to improve community safety. Burning tax dollars for press releases gives Congress the appearance of “doing something” but the reality is that some ideas are just plain dumb. |

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) doubled down on her defense of relaxed gun control laws, claiming “strict gun laws actually create murder.” Greene opened her remarks by pointing to multiple shootings in Chicago on Memorial Day weekend that left 11 people dead and over 50 injured from gunshot wounds. She claimed Democrats failed to talk about or report those particular shootings. |

Many, many moons ago, we reviewed the Marlin 1894C chambered in .357 magnum. It didn’t go well. That was back in the baddest of the bad old days of the Cerberus-owned Freedom Group conglomerate. They’d bought Marlin in 2008 and shut down its New Haven plant in 2011, moving production to Remington’s facility in Ilion, New York. |

Welcome to today’s Photo of the Day! Here we have another survival rifle that needs a revival! This is the M4 Survival Rifle and it served as a military-issued armament for aircrew members during survival scenarios. It was designed to accommodate the 22 Hornet caliber, a rather intriguing choice even for its time. The concept of a survival firearm, whether it be a rifle, carbine, or pistol, is not novel. During the Second World War, Allied aircrew members were typically equipped with Colt M1911 .45 ACP pistols, while some German aircrew members in the Africa campaigns received drilling combination guns. Following the war, the United States military aimed to adopt a designated “survival rifle.” |

Concealed carry for self defense is one of the most personal shooting topics out there. This is simply because we’re all different and have different needs. Each person’s EDC setup and method of carry will differ based on their chosen firearm, daily routine, self defense needs, and individual taste. Some folks, even ones not living in a Mickey Spillane novel, might find ankle carry optimal. |

If you’re in the market for a self-defense type of folder, I’ve been testing out the 5.11 Marcaida Talon Folder, which you ought to check out. It has some unique features that make it a desirable self-defense knife to carry. Its thin profile helps make it comfortable to carry.

Last summer, I thought it would be good to have Tom King on the show before the NYSRPA v Bruen decision. I messaged him and he said yes to being on the show, but I didn’t follow up. This past April at the NRA Annual Meetings, Anthony Colandro (RSWC #003 & #025) introduced us and said I should have Tom on the show. With the summer here and the anniversary of the NYSRPA v Bruen decision, I figured it was a good time to film a show! |
