The heavily favored Warriors had just lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 7 of the NBA Finals, and Kerr went through a painful, protracted dissection of what went wrong. He also spoke about the season finale of Game of Thrones and Kristin Hannah’s The Nightingale, a World War II novel Kerr had read.

Guns! Oh no, I can see everybody's spine stiffen, and quite honestly I can't really believe I'm gonna wade in here! My God you could argue online 24/7 if you want. You might as well ask who makes the best pizza in town! A lot of people much smarter then me have been pounding both sides of this argument for a long, long time and anybody can Google extreme debate points on both sided of the issue. I'm no expert, these are just my heartfelt ramblings, so please don't judge me too harshly.

Hollywood has long misrepresented guns and gun owners in their films. With the very vocal anti-Second Amendment attitude — stemming mainly from Hollywood and the mainstream media and heating up in recent years — don’t expect those misrepresentations to change anytime soon. |

Put down that six-shooter, pardner. Your day is done. The Hawaii Police Department is going the way of many federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, and exchanging officers’ clunky old Smith & Wessons for sleek, new Glock 9 mm semiautomatic handguns. “The days of the revolver are over for law enforcement,” said Lt. Thomas Shopay III, a member of the department’s tactical unit.

Mayor Fred Henry made his stance on the controversial national topics of gun-purchasing laws and drug culture known at a recent City Council meeting. Prompted most recently by the nightclub shooting in Orlando, in which a gunman with an assault weapon killed 49 people, Henry pointed out that people can’t take a water bottle, a snow globe, four ounces of facial cream or an aerosol can on an airplane. |

The battle over carrying concealed weapons in Missouri without a permit is heating up. On Monday, Governor Jay Nixon vetoed Senate Bill 656. It was known as the Constitutional Carry Bill. State lawmakers are now looking ahead to September, and a veto override. If they succeed, Missourians will not only be able to carry a concealed gun without a permit, but they also would not need to take a conceal-and-carry class.

The poll is non-scientific, but it was open to the public and it appears the public responded. Those taking the poll read one question, “Do you believe people should be allowed to carry guns in public?” They then chose from three possible answers: 1. Yes! The Second Amendment guarantees it. 2. No, it’s too dangerous. 3. Only for self-defense.

The Seattle Police Department will begin melting down its unused guns rather than selling them, ending a practice that brought in about $30,000 a year. The resolution Monday was a slight change of plans — the City Council was expected to vote on a resolution saying the guns would be sold only to other law-enforcement agencies, but Councilmember Tim Burgess amended the resolution, which then passed unanimously. |

Gay gun enthusiasts are rallying in the wake of the Orlando gay bar massacre, restocking the membership ranks of an LGBT gun group in Atlanta, meeting inside a Buford Highway shooting range and explaining how gays can like guns so much. Ten days after the Pulse nightclub shooting, the Atlanta chapter of Pink Pistols – national group with the slogan "Pick On Someone Your Own Caliber" – organized a meeting to revive the dormant group. They met June 22 in a classroom of Quickshot Buckhead – just a short distance from Club Rush, which hosts a long-standing LGBT Latin night on Fridays.

How far we’ve come as a society in just a few hundred years. Take threatening a public official, for example. Back in the old days, you had to get out your quill and parchment, write out your threat in longhand, put a stamp on an envelope, and wait for some guy on a horse to deliver your threat to its target. Then the threat would end up on a pile of other threats. Who knew how long it would take your target to read your threat? What a lot of bother!

For the first time, students at Georgia’s public colleges and universities will be allowed to legally carry stun guns, starting Friday. State Rep. Buzz Brockway, R-Lawrenceville, sponsored the bill and told Channel 2’s Lori Geary this is all about safety. “During the session, I was getting calls, especially from students at Georgia State, because there were three robberies in the library while we were in session, so there were a lot of students who contacted me to say, 'Hey can I have one now?'" Brockway said.

America's birthday is rapidly approaching and, as it does, we should all spend at least a brief moment between hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill to contemplate that fact. It was not a given that we would survive our rebellion against England. It was not a given that disparate groups from 13 very different colonies would be able to come up with a document that all would sign. What our forefathers did was compromise in order to achieve the greater good of nationhood.
