I sort of miss the old Poly-Chokes E.F. White developed in Hartford, Conn. in the 1920s. Poly-Chokes were a practical, dial-and-go way for shotgunners to change bore constriction. All it took was one turn of the dial and we could go from cylinder bore when hunting grouse and woodcock to a full choke for pass shooting geese.

At one time or another, we have all saved our pennies to buy a new gun. But this world of high-end gun buying is different. The firearms sold by Rock Island Auction in Illinois are some of the most expensive rifles and pistols in the world. RIA specializes in obtaining historic guns and auctioning them off to the highest bidder. A few of the pistols and rifles they have sold date back to the American Civil War, Revolutionary War against the British, and even the French Revolution, which took place during the 18th and 19th centuries. |

Debuting in 2016, the little Ruger LCP II offered a highly concealable package that suited Ruger’s “Light Compact Pistol” designation, hence the LCP. While short on frills and extras – expect no sight upgrades or rails here – this minute single-stack .380 semi-auto handgun managed to gain a fan base that continues today despite the fact that calling it pint-sized would overstate its actual dimensions.

The notion of secession is still alive in the South, at least in the community of Buckhead, a suburb of Atlanta, Ga.
There, according to Fox News, Buckhead City Committee CEO Bill White says the community is “really feeling like this is a war zone.” The network uncovered some data showing burglaries are up 26 percent, robbers are up 8 percent and rape is up an alarming 80 percent. |

Two groups defending the Second Amendment sent a legal warning to California Attorney General Rob Bonta Monday demanding that he “cease his blatant disregard for the recent Supreme Court decision which effectively overturned California’s ‘May Issue’ permitting scheme.” The letter was sent by David Warrington, counsel for the National Association for Gun Rights and the National Foundation for Gun Rights, after Bonta issued a June 24 legal alert to local officials including recommendations to follow when determining if those seeking permits to purchase firearms were “responsible citizens.” |

New Jersey’s acting Attorney General, Matthew J. Platkin, issued a directive “clarifying requirements for carrying firearms in public” a day after the historic ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court in New York State Rifle & Pistol Assoc. v. Bruen on June 23. That ruling struck down as unconstitutional the handgun permitting regime in neighboring New York State, which, like New Jersey’s, is based on a “may issue” approach. The Court held that “New York’s proper-cause requirement violates the Fourteenth Amendment in that it prevents law-abiding citizens with ordinary self-defense needs from exercising their right to keep and bear arms.”

Last week, the United States Supreme Court handed down a huge victory for gun owners, confirming what has been known all along: that the 2nd Amendment is not a second class right and should not be treated as such. However, the California legislature is continuing their quest to completely undermine this inherent right to self-defense. Further, in the wake of California Attorney General Bonta issuing a legal alert in response to the Supreme Court decision that issuing authorities can no longer require "good cause" for concealed carry permits, he is simultaneously amending a bill (SB 918) in the legislature to completely undermines carry permits in California. |

When Congress passed, and then-President Bill Clinton (D) signed, the Federal Assault Weapons Ban in 1994, semi-automatic firearms had already been popularly sold to civilians for about a century. To name one, the still highly regarded Model 1911 semi-automatic pistol served as the standard-issue sidearm for the United States Armed Forces from 1911 to 1987, and, at the same time, was and is popular with American citizens for competition and self-defense. |

The soft point boat tail (SP-BT) is a relatively popular, “no-frills” style bullet primarily used in rifle ammunition for long-range shooting. Many F-Class competitive shooters still use this style of bullet, as it is a proven performer. With the variety of match-grade ammo on the market, there is likely a load that will perform admirably in your rifle. |

Sometimes handgun concealed carry isn’t practical or even legal. And though far from optimal, a knife can be used for self-defense. There are more than a few issues and deficiencies when it comes to using a knife for self-defense, but in the end it’s better than nothing. |

On Wednesday, June 29, 2022. both the full Senate and the full Assembly are scheduled to take a final vote on Gov. Murphy’s misguided gun ban package, which targets only the rights of honest gun owners instead of targeting actual gun criminals. Hey ruling class! How yer doin', pal? Do you feel, after a black man dared to reaffirm the Second Amendment and Roe v. Wade got overturned, that the world is spinning out of control? I think you may want to consult a mental-health expert and ask xir about Rapid Onset Ruling-Class Disorder (RORD). Experts agree that RORD is commonly found among the high-status supporters of a ruling class confronted by unexpected lack of respect from uppity black men. It is also associated with a ruling class headed for the exits, as in Louis XVI and Mikhail Gorbachev.
