Supporters of a failed, four-year petition effort to ban legally concealed guns in schools and houses of worship are regrouping and may try again in 2004 to get their cause on the ballot.
If there is a next time, they will do it differently, relying on fund-raising and paid petition signature gatherers to get the job done. |

The wall of deceipt built on the manipulated emotions of an injured peoples, aided and abetted by a compliant and lapdog press, is coming apart at the seams. How deep the rabbit hole goes is still to be determined.
Many of us are all too familiar with the press's assault on 2nd Amendment and it's methodologies of lieing with statistics. Stay vigilant on the political counterattacks necessary to restore the entire Bill of Rights and keep an eye on the development of this story. |

"Forget any thought that he is concerned with meeting his "oath of office" - it just isn't so. EOs (unconstitutional) issued in his first year verifies this as fact as does his "if you aren't for us, you are against us" attitude. Orders made unlawfully by a tyrannical president and statements or acts depriving people of their basic human rights are not fictions dreamt up by alleged "conspiracy theorists"." |

Given an opportunity to silence political opposition through a nation's airwaves, modern tyrants have seized and maintained power over huge populations. It is alarming to note that the just passed campaign-finance law is a seminal move to further undermine open and vigorous political debate in the land of the free. |

On Wednesday, June 5, an important public hearing will be held for residents of Belknap County to voice their opposition to the proposed Gun-Free Laconia Bike Week—a proposal that seeks to create a "gun-free" zone in Laconia during Bike Week 2002, which will run from June 8 - 16. It is critical that gun owners and sportsmen attend the public hearing to show opposition to this unneeded and excessive proposal. The hearing will be held at Laconia City Hall, located at 45 Beacon Street East.

On Thursday, June 6, the Delaware Senate will consider SB 190. This legislation would mandate that all handguns sold or transferred by a licensed gun dealer be accompanied by a "trigger-locking" device. It would also ban the sale or transfer of all handguns that are not equipped with a so-called "integrated mechanical safety device" after January 1, 2003. SB 190 would outlaw the sale of virtually ALL existing models of handguns on the market today. |

When Bensalem's attorney told the Philadelphia Gun Club to stop its pigeon shoots, he relied in part on a local ordinance making it illegal to hunt in the township. But there's an exception to that 1967 ordinance.
It doesn't apply to the "discharge of a firearms by members of a duly organized gun or rifle club" provided that such a gun club or range has been inspected by Bensalem police. |

Schoolboys used to learn what William Pitt said in the English Parliament, in the 18th century, when the king was ordering more searches of private homes and businesses: "The poorest man may in his cottage bid defiance to all the force of the Crown."
Pitt said the roof of his cottage "may shake; the wind may blow through it; the storm may enter; the rain may enter; but the King of England may not enter — all his forces dare not cross the threshold of the ruined tenement." |

Airline pilots may dress like postal workers, but I don't think they carry the same bag of “issues.”
If anyone has an excuse to go psycho, it's the “Greyhound of the Skies” guys. They chauffeur belligerent, neurotic, often toasted passengers, knowing that not two among 200 will ever remain seated until the airplane comes to a complete stop — although the whole planeload will gladly sue like tobacco lawyers if someone gets beaned by a carry-on anvil. |

On a recent cross-country trip, besides being x-rayed, my carry-on luggage was hand-searched three times. I wondered if the items in my briefcase had somehow been transformed (a type of airport alchemy) between the check-in search and the one at the boarding gate.
On this journey, I committed one of the seven deadly sins of airport security: My luggage was not in my control at all times. |

MANCHESTER, England - The gun startled John Moss. He had never seen one in broad daylight before, not on the streets of south Manchester. The fact that the weapon in question was being carried by a police officer on patrol and not a criminal made its presence, if anything, more jarring.
"I don't know much about America - only what you see on the telly - but that's the direction they're going,' Mr. Moss said. |

Citing the city’s doubts about whether it has authority to pass such a measure, Police Chief William Baker has withdrawn a controversial proposal to create a gun-free zone during Bike Week.
Baker, in a prepared statement Friday, said that while both he and City Attorney Walter Mitchell agreed that the ordinance "would pass constitutional muster," Mitchell had raised other concerns that prompted him to not press on with the proposal. |
