The music stops. The guests sober up, albeit only slightly, and begin lumbering toward their hotel rooms. Slim men in red vests bus away a sea of empty drinking glasses. You turn to your loving wife of 40 years and look her in her big, beautiful eyes as you speak. |

If you’ve never heard of Fetter 12 gauge ammo then you aren’t alone, as this is one of the more obscure ammo manufacturers on the market. Made in Russia to help supply the competitive clay shooting sports, Fetter Ammunition produces a wide variety of shotshells loaded with #7-1/2 and #8 shot for competition to 00 buckshot and slugs for home defense. |

The Supreme Court is apparently too busy to uphold rights that are explicitly protected in the Bill of Rights. This week, the court denied certiorari in two cases challenging “assault weapon” bans in Maryland and Rhode Island. The ban in Maryland, where prohibitive regulations make it unconstitutionally difficult for law-abiding citizens to obtain any guns, was first challenged five years ago. The plaintiffs lost in the district court and then in front of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit. The case has been sitting there for a year. |

This may have been our most raucous and heated lunch table debate ever, and I can't blame any of my friends for their genuine reactions, but it's a good question. If Oklahoma felons are able to vote as per their constitutional right, why can't they also own guns again? I know that's a loaded question, and most people zip straight to the thought of rearming violent criminals who have done heinous things, but that's not the intent of the discussion. |

The latest effort to expand hunting on Sundays in Pennsylvania passed a key House committee with bipartisan support Tuesday. State Rep. Mandy Steele (D-Allegheny), sponsor of House Bill 1431, described the effort to repeal Pennsylvania’s Sunday prohibition on hunting as a “groundbreaking collaboration” of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, Pennsylvania Game Commission, and multiple advocacy groups. |

As the country shifts gears heading into summer, gun sales remained historically strong, with over a million sold at FFLs in May. At least 1,998,440 federal background checks were processed through the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System in May 2025, a number that is statistically flat when compared to the May 2024 figure of 2,000,505. |

Blame those old Western movies, but I just love a lever-action carbine! Smith & Wesson knows that there are a lot of shooters like me, despite living in the land of the AR-15. Some shooting competitions do more than allow lever actions – they demand them. Also useful for hunting, home defense and a day of fun shooting, the lever action is being re-discovered. Here’s my evaluation of Smith & Wesson’s first modern lever gun: the 1854 Stealth Hunter. |
SCOTUS Declines to Hear Two Major Second Amendment Cases, Frustrating Gun Rights Advocates

The U.S. Supreme Court has declined to grant certiorari in two significant Second Amendment cases: Snope v. Brown, challenging Maryland's ban on AR-15 rifles, and Ocean State Tactical v. Rhode Island, challenging the state’s ban on so-called high-capacity magazines. The Court’s refusal to take up either case marks a major disappointment for gun rights advocates hoping the justices would rein in lower courts that have upheld sweeping firearm bans despite clear precedent from District of Columbia v. Heller and New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen. |

On Monday the Supreme Court refused to hear yet another case about the subversion of Americans' Second Amendment rights. The case in question is Snope v. Brown, a challenge to Maryland's ban on the sale and ownership of AR-15 sporting rifles. The ban was upheld by the Fourth Circuit and appealed to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court declined to take up the case, for now. |

Citigroup announced Tuesday it is scrapping its “universal firearms policy” adopted in 2018 in reaction to a mass high school shooting, and instead shifting its banking practices “with the intent of striking the right balance between our commitment to fair and unbiased access to our products while continuing to manage all risks to the bank appropriately,” according to a company announcement. |
