At the bottom of this article, which reports that less Hollywood movies are using guns, is a note about the latest trend in TV:
"Prime-time television shows are following suit. For instance, a recent episode of Judging Amy addressed a father losing custody of his children because of his careless gun-storage practices."
~"Prime-time" must stand for "prime time to be brainwashed". |

"I think it is time that Republicans and Democrats, using the Judiciary Committee, do an overall look at the FBI, an in-depth look," said Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vermont). "The bureau lives sometimes as an isolated area where they forget that they're responsible to the attorney general and they're responsible to the Congress," Leahy said. |

D.I.R.T. - Data Interception by Remote Transmission - was designed to allow remote monitoring of a target PC by military, government and law enforcement agencies.
How does it work? Investigators electronically place hidden software via the Internet from any listening post in the world that is completely transparent to the target and cannot be detected by current anti-virus software.

More deaths, crime and reliability problems aren't worth it. by John R. Lott Jr. "Accidental gun deaths among children are fortunately much rarer than most people believe. Consider New Jersey from 1994 to 1998. Among 1.5 million children under the age of 15, there were only two accidental gun deaths - an annual rate of 0.4 deaths." |

Handgun Licensing SB52 by state Sen. Jack Scott (D-Glendale) was approved by the Senate Appropriations Committee. The bill would require handgun purchasers to first obtain a license by passing written, safe handling and basic shooting proficiency tests. The bill would also require purchasers to submit thumbprints with local law enforcement agencies, making it harder for criminals to falsify identification.
SB52 is scheduled to be heard on the Senate Floor next week. |

~The infamous Dr. Kellerman strikes again! However, this time the description of his study makes it seem somewhat more credible than his previous work.
To break it down: 75% of the studied children found the gun in the room. 56% handled it. Between 14% and 28% pulled the trigger (not clear from article).
However, he fails to mention whether the children who handled the gun or pulled the trigger came from gun-owning or gun-free households.
This makes the AAP's "no-gun" recommendation premature. |

"Schoolchildren throughout the country begin each day by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, but school administrators are discovering that this practice has its risks. Many students, it seems, actually believe that stuff about liberty and justice for all -- to the point of assuming they have liberties that may be exercised, even during school." --Steve Chapman |
