It's now confirmed: Plans to attack al Qaida were reviewed 2 days before 9-11, as reported here.

The other pages on this excellant site add up to a great read for a nite or 2 and will leave a person "well up" on pertinant info regarding the precursors to 9-11.

Those that would steal our freedoms will use our lack of knowledge, if we let them.

"If the state legislature wanted towns to override a state permit to carry handguns, there would have to be a state statute to say the towns could do that."

Darren LaSorte, state liaison for the NRA, agrees, noting the 1984 ruling explains "political subdivisions are preempted from regulating firearms in any manner."

KABA Note: So NRA argues that cities don't have authority to preempt the 2nd Amendment-- but states do. Ask yourself (and them) why they never sue based on 2A.

"Why does disarming law-abiding citizens rank so high on liberals' agenda? Is it merely because they find weapons repulsive? Or do they fear that others share their own repressed desire to kill those who disagree with them? They don't trust their fellow citizens – is this a projection of their own fear that they are not to be trusted?"

"arms sales to the sub-continent and the refusal to put an unequivocal embargo in place represent 'the final nail in the coffin of an ethical foreign policy -- if that ever existed'."

--Remember this is the same government that DISARMED it's own citizenry, to disastorous results.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
Besides the advantage of being armed, which the Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation, the existence of subordinate governments, to which the people are attached, and by which the militia officers are appointed, forms a barrier against the enterprises of ambition, more insurmountable than any which a simple government of any form can admit of. Notwithstanding the military establishments in the several kingdoms of Europe, which are carried as far as the public resources will bear, the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms. — James Madison, The Federalist Papers, No. 46
