The Russian Avtomat Kalashnikova, otherwise known as the AK-47 to us capitalist dogs, is undoubtedly the most mass-produced rifle in the world. It fires the 7.62x39mm Soviet round that was developed shortly after the close of WWII and has remained relatively unchanged since its release.

Years ago, before the communist party took over America, you could carry an EDC folder when flying with a blade of less than 3.5 inches. That brought me great comfort. A few times, I had to fly into Chicago by myself, one time catching a train through a not-so-great area of town at midnight to get to my hotel. On another trip, the cab driver drove down a side street that was solid bars. It was the middle of the day and people were passed out on the curbs and sidewalks. He stopped at a red light and three young thugs strolled up to the car looking in to see if there was anything worth stealing. |

The 9mm vs 40 Smith & Wesson (40 S&W) debate has been raging since the introduction of the 40 S&W in early 1990. Typically, the debate centers on which of the two pistol cartridges are superior for concealed carry.
The law enforcement community has flip-flopped on this issue over recent years as the FBI is retiring their 40 S&W Glock 22 sidearms and returning to the 9mm Luger as their standard issue ammo for their field agents.

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel told the Michigan Advance she is working to ensure gun violence laws can withstand legal scrutiny and are properly enforced. With Democrats taking control of the House and Senate and maintaining the governorship after the 2022 election, the Legislature has passed multiple Democratic priorities, including measures requiring background checks for all gun sales in Michigan, safe gun and ammunition storage requirements, and extreme risk protection order laws, otherwise known as “red flag” laws.

On July 25, 2022, Todd Yuktake and Justin Solomon filed a federal lawsuit against the Attorney General of Hawaii, Holly T. Shikada, for infringement of the right to keep and bear arms, specifically against the state of Hawaii’s ban on “billies” or “batons” outside the home. Billies were likely chosen, in part, because no procedure exists in Hawaii to allow the carry of short clubs outside the home. Over the course of the case, the AG changed from Shikada to Lopez. |

A new survey shows teachers are split about whether arming themselves would make schools safer. "Gun violence and school safety are top of mind for every community, especially for parents, students and teachers. Now, a Rand Corporation survey finds one in five teachers say they would be interested in carrying a gun to school; 20% believe teachers carrying a gun would make schools safer but 54% believe armed teachers would make schools less safe, and 26% feel either way, it would not make a difference," said Emily Rovar, a licensed social worker and program director of the adolescent program for Genpsych. "I think that they're just under a lot of stress." |

If you are like me, you want your hunting shotgun to be reliable, flexible, and above all, lightweight! That is why I picked the M1 Super 90 by Benelli many years ago. Although Benelli has replaced this M1 with the newer M2, my Super 90 shoots well and is versatile enough to take bird hunting or target shooting. This gun excels in the field due to its simplicity. |

Four years after the New Zealand national government banned a sweeping array of legal firearms, including antiques and collectibles, it seems like guns somehow keep popping up. Recently, the national police force stationed in the rural Hawke's Bay Region of New Zealand's North Island made two different firearms seizures in separate incidents that left two men charged with multiple firearm-related charges.
