At the end of Tuesday’s NBC Today, co-hosts Savannah Guthrie and Matt Lauer brought on comedian and newly-named Comedy Central late-night host Jordan Klepper to promote his upcoming one-hour special on the cable channel. Based on Klepper’s work routinely mocking gun-owners as a Daily Show correspondent and the trailer for the satirical documentary, viewers can probably expect another typical left-wing screed against the Second Amendment. |

House members shot down a proposal Tuesday that would have allowed people with concealed carry permits to carry their firearms on public colleges, except in dorms and in entertainment facilities that post signs barring their possession. By a 90-56 vote, House members turned aside a plea by the measure’s sponsor who worried that prohibiting weapons would “create victim zones” where innocents could be easy prey for criminals or terrorists. |

Some North Carolina senators say putting the right to hunt and fish within the state Constitution would help promote natural resources and outdoor industries while preserving the activities for generations to come. The GOP senators held a news conference Tuesday to promote new legislation that if approved would result in a statewide referendum in November 2018. Bill co-sponsor Sen. Danny Britt of Robeson County says there's no attack against hunting and fishing today but he's worried about the recent decline in hunting, particularly for waterfowl. Urban encroachment is also an issue. |
