California politicians reveal total hypocrisy on 'gun control'

... "'Brash,' Timm? A little bit of editorializing creeping into your 'Authorized Journalism' there? There can be no other motive, such as the inability of most California gun to get 'permission' to exercise their right to bear arms via a 'may issue' concealed carry permit generally reserved for the politically-connected, particularly in urban areas, that is, those with the most violent crime? Resorting to the last 'legal' means to provide for one's own defense is 'brash'?" ...

Media Matters pivots, in order to double down on Gadahn's 'fully automatic' lie

"People with any familiarity with guns raised an amused eyebrow at American-born Al Qaeda spokesman Adam Gadahn's claim that at gun shows in the U.S., one could buy 'a fully automatic assault rifle, without a background check, and most likely without having to show an identification card.' Fully automatic firearms are, of course, very heavily regulated in the U.S." ...

"A reader asked:"
"I'm curious about scopes. Top Shot's George, while describing his setup process for the 1000 yard shot, said (among other things) that he adjusted something because he didn't like the scope's 'parallax'. I know approximately what parallax means, and can guess how it applies to scopes, but have no idea how to set up a scope for a shot like that."

"In short, for those of us not blessed with $1K scopes, what are all the little knobs and dials and fiddly things for?"
"OK, let me take a shot at this…" ...

"With new manufacturing technology and materials speeding weapons evolution, it's no surprise that Kel-Tec took another look at the tactical shotgun. Kel-Tec's KSG Bullpup shotgun stormed the SHOT show like the Red Army into Berlin, championing its 14-round capacity, diminutive configuration and radical ergonomics. Sounds great on paper, but what’s it like in real life? Our favorite Russian émigré Oleg Volk, brought one to the Lucky Gunner Blogger shoot over Memorial Day weekend . . ." ...

"THERE MAY NEVER be a better spokesman for closing the gun show loophole than Adam Yahiye Gadahn."

"A 32-year-old American and convert to Islam, Mr. Gadahn referred to the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, as 'blessed raids' and called for additional 'jihad against America.' He has been on the FBI’s Most Wanted Terrorists list and faces criminal charges for treason and for providing material support to al-Qaeda. Mr. Gadahn is believed to have left his native Orange County, Calif., for Pakistan, where he has become a multimedia front man for the terrorist organization." ...

... "'By severely restricting such speech and the ability of physicians to practice such preventative medicine, the Florida statute could result in grievous harm to children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly,' the suit said."

"But Scott's office defended the law, noting that it only bars doctors from inquiring about firearms if that information is not relevant to a patients' care or the safety of others." ...

Submitter's Note: Another attempt by the Brady bunch to waste the government of Florida's money defending legislation from stupid lawsuits...

Memo to Cranks: The Arms Trade Treaty Will Not Affect Your Ability to Buy Guns

"In a three-day meeting organized by the UN Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR) the European Union, and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, representatives of nearly 30 East Asian and Pacific countries are gathering with regional and international organizations to discuss the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT)." ...
-------

Submitter's Note: Memo to Diana: If, as earlier reports suggested, the ATT will be modeled after CIFTA then you are correct, it will not affect gun purchases. It will, if strictly enforced however, require a gov't license for a gun owner to change or add a scope. Or to replace a pistol's grips or rifle's stock. Or to add any accessories to any firearm. Or to so much as put rounds in a mag or a mag in a pistol.

... "A sharp spear, fired from a blowgun, had allowed someone to inflict harm so easily. The weapon can be bought in plenty of places for about $15. Borte is now fighting for blow darts to be banned, arguing there's no reason for something that can cause such havoc to be sold."

"'They've been banned in the state of California. There's restrictions in New Jersey,' she said." ...
-------

KABA Note: Wonderful! Once these awful weapons are banned no one will have blowguns to shoot puppies and kittens any more! Unless they want to buy some 1/2" PVC and about $5 of other materials to make their own . . .

Thank goodness that Stockton sent heavily armed men into a house with three young children, forcibly entering and seizing law-abiding citizens, to demand payment for a student loan from someone who no longer lives in the house. "'My goal is to bring the gun debate back to the center,' McCarthy told aldermen. "Salt Lake leaders have discovered they are losing revenue because of fewer parking tickets."

"An audit shows a downward trend in the last five years in revenue from parking enforcement. Nearly 140,000 tickets in 2006 dropped to an estimated 106,000 this fiscal year." ...
-------

Submitter's note: Wow. Gee, and I thought that tickets were about public safety, or at LEAST rule of law. So, um, city leaders are mad that people are obeying the law? More proof that government likes to CREATE criminals out of us, abuse the law for profit, and use their agents for mostly revenue collection.
