For a new shooter, the number of bullet types and terminology can be overwhelming and difficult to understand – and the full metal case is arguably the most confusing of them all. Typically, this bullet type is found labeled in the bulk ammo section of foreign manufacturer sites, and it's basically the same thing as the full metal jacket, or FMJ. Many gun authorities note that Remington was the first to use the description "full metal case." |

A Massachusetts police officer was indicted Wednesday on charges that he raped a homeless 16-year-old while working for a city outreach program in 2016, according to reports.
Former Lowell police officer Kevin Garneau, 49, was arraigned and charged Thursday with two counts of rape, the Middlesex County District Attorney’s office said.

A Michigan man who appeared with his family on the TLC show "Meet the Putmans" has been acquitted of gun crimes.
MLive.com reports that a jury in Bay City returned its verdict Friday in 33-year-old Brandon Putman's federal trial.
Authorities say Putman tried to get copies of a component to convert an AR-15 into an automatic weapon that could shoot multiple bullets with a single squeeze of the trigger. He faced charges of receiving a firearm made in violation of the law, possessing an unregistered firearm and possessing a firearm lacking a serial number.
A possessing an unregistered firearm charge was dismissed in 2018 against his father, William Putman II. |

Among Glock’s large and varied lineup, one pistol is held up more than any other as the “ideal” Glock and to some, the idea pistol period: the Glock 19. Compact, reliable and with a large magazine capacity, it is the standard by which other high capacity autoloaders are judged. In response to the Glock 19’s reliability, the market has produced several competitors. How do these stack up to the king of the polymer guns? |

Through a series of events that were not necessarily unpredictable, another case challenging the Right to Keep and Bear arms in New Jersey has been denied review. Cheeseman v Pollillo is one of the latest cases that has worked its way through the system, only to be denied review by the New Jersey Supreme Court. The section of the Second Amendment that is being infringed on in the argument is the Bear Arms…as in to have on one’s person or simply put “carry.” Outside the home…In the Heller case, Justice Scalia did state in the majority opinion: “At the time of the founding, as now, to ‘bear’ meant to ‘carry.’”

A range of new Washington state gun laws take effect July, including key parts of Initiative 1639, the sweeping firearms measure approved last year that has sparked a charged debate over firearms, public safety and constitutional rights. State lawmakers this year passed at least 10 firearms-related bills. They include a law banning undetectable "ghost guns" that takes effect Monday, as well as legislation intended to keep weapons out of the hands of domestic abusers and people with mental health issues and a history of violence.

Last Sunday, the “news” program 60 Minutes ran a story it called “What makes the AR-15 style rifle the weapon of choice for mass shooters?” The producer of the piece, Ashley Velie, claimed the intent was to present a story that was “completely apolitical.” From the very outset, however, starting with the inflammatory and inaccurate title, it was clear the real intent was to vilify the most popular centerfire rifle in America.

The left claims to be a compassionate party. They say the government must be more prominent to protect those who cannot take care of themselves. Their declarations sound noble, but they are not. Instead, America and our society are a more dangerous place because of leftist policies. The Second Amendment was written for self-protection from the government. A well-armed society is capable of keeping a tyrannical government at bay. The left knows this, and that is why they continuously attempt to pick away at gun rights.

Retired farmer Allan Phillips had been out of legal trouble for 40 years when he asked Iowa's governor to restore the gun rights he lost in 1978.
Phillips, 76, wrote in his 2017 application for clemency that it was time for him to get past the consequence of his misdemeanor conviction for having a loaded hunting gun in his vehicle. But his request would ultimately land him in legal jeopardy.
As his application slowly moved forward, Phillips received a surprise visit earlier this year from state investigators conducting a background check. They found that he had access to firearms at his home in West Branch in violation of the gun ban that his 41-year-old conviction had triggered. |

Several disputed quotes have been attributed to Nikita Khrushchev, the former authoritarian leader of the U.S.S.R. Perhaps the most famous is, “We will take America without firing a shot. We do not have to invade the U.S. We will destroy you from within.” As with all historical quotes, the veracity of Khrushchev’s should be taken with a grain of salt. Still, the sentiment is undeniably accurate. And now it seems that the Left is determined to see it through to fruition.

The only exceptions are sales and transfers between family members and between law enforcement. "It's important in terms of making sure that guns don't end up in unsafe hands," said Miranda Viscoli, with New Mexicans to Prevent Gun Violence.
